Malta is a small country in the south of Europe and is a Mediterranean country. It was first inhabited somewhere around 5200BC by Stone Age hunters and farmers who have arrived from the Italian island of Sicani.
Malta was ruled by Phoenicians, Romans, spaniards, Normads, Moors, Sicilians, the French and finally the British and that's when she joined the British empire.
Malta has a surplus of naval ships and was a valuable ally in World War Two. She has been given the George Cross for her bravery at war.
Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom September 21st 1964, and until 1974 she was known as the State of Malta. She became a republic in 1974 she was no longer a state but she still had ties with her older brother England.
Malta is gorgeous. She takes pride in the architecture, art and history of her land. She has some of the most beautiful land in the worlds, which attracts many people (a/n- FORESHADOWING).
