"Everyone have a safe and fun four day weekend." The principal said through the speaker. Not even 6 seconds later the final bell rang and everyone rushed out the door.

I got up and slowly walked out the door, but not before whispering to the teacher to have a nice weekend.

As the hallway became empty and hallow. I breathed out in relief. Even though I enjoy the long hours away from home, I also love the few hours of quiet in school. It's when I don't have to worry about questioning glances or dirty looks.

I walked out the school's door and walked to the near library by my school. I went to the library door and open it.

"Marry! How are you?!" Miss. Belle exciting said as she stood up. I smiled at her. Warmth went through my body.

Miss. Belle was my dearest friend even though I was 17 and she 23. She's the only one who has ever shown me kindness and comfort. She never casts a judgment look or anything like that.

I remember the first time I had met her. She saw my troubled eyes at the age of 14 and advice me if I ever needed something to find her in the library. Ever since then I would spend all my time in the library. That is until it closes.

Miss. Belle who never questions me just stated that if I needed everything that I could call her or even stay with her. Blushing in embarrassment  I gave my thanks and said it wouldn't be necessary.

"I'm good Miss. Belle. Uhmmm would it'll be alright to stay for a few hours?" I asked her. I always asked her this. She always says yes, but I have to ask. I wouldn't want to bother her.

"Oh, Mary you know you're always welcome here. And how many times do I have to tell you to call me Helen. I would hope you consider me as a friend. I know I consider you as one." I blushed and quickly shook my head.

"I do! You are my dearest friend. It's quite embarrassing but you're my only friend. I just don't want to disrespect you or make you feel uncomfortable." Miss. Belle or Helen has always gifted me with gifts. Clothes, shoes, school supplies, words of encouragement. She was a friend with a sense of motherly love. But I could never say anything like that. It would be so embarrassing and frightening.

"Mary you are one of my dearest friends as well. And it's not embarrassing. God heavens when I was your age my only friends were my romance novels and pet cat. Maybe one of these days you could join me for tea. And when you're up to it I could introduce you to my family." She smiled me in a nice way and with hopefulness that I could only nod my head.

"I would like that." She smiled at me.

"Well, perhaps this Saturday. Now go on and do your homework." I smiled and walked to the private section of the library. It seems that many do not know of this section because no one is rarely here. So it was to my surprise when I saw a person in my usual seat.

He looked up at me and my eyes widen. He was so handsome. Brown dashing hair with chocolate brown eyes. His jaw was clench and eyebrows furrow. He took me in. Not knowing what to do I smiled at him and waved. Perhaps he could be my new friend. Even though I know I would probably stumble with my words and blush like crazy I would like to be friends with him.

He just stared at me and rolled his eyes. Rejection wash all over me and uncomfortableness started to creep in. My back started to feel sweaty. Oh no a panic attack. I can't have one now.

I looked down at my shoes that Miss. Belle got me and quickly walked to the farthest seat away from him. It seems that I make him uncomfortable and he clearly doesn't like me.

I shook off my embarrassment. Stupid marry. Get over it. He clearly doesn't want to start a conversation. So what? You probably would've made a fool of yourself. A blessing in disguise.

I started to do my lit homework then calculus homework. As I finish up my last math problem I felt an intense stare on me. Afaird to look up I focus on my last time. After a few intense minutes, I grew up my courage and looked up.

HE was staring at me. Observing me. I looked around and made sure he wasn't just staring at me. Nope, he is staring at me.

"C-Can I h-help you?" I meekly asked. He just stared at me. He then stood up. Oh goodness, he is so hall. Probably over 6'1 and he looks quite built. I gulped but didn't break eye contact.

It was intense. A knife could literally cut the air. He sat on the chair in front of me.

"What's your name?" He asked. His voice was deep and raspy. I galped. Don't make a fool out of yourself.

"Mary!" I let out. I blushed. That was way too loud.

"Mary." He whispered to himself. I nodded.

"You're in high school still?" I nodded. I bravely asked.

"What's your name?"

"Blake. I'm not in high school or college." I nodded my head.

"So what do you do if you don't mind me asking." He shook his head.

"Not at all. I own a construction company. Sheldon's Corp." I nodded my head.

"Yes I've heard of them. I never knew that someone so young own it." He shrugged his shoulders.

"It wasn't easy. My uncles had to give me a loan. I wouldn't of been as successful if weren't for them." I smiled at him.

"That's so lovely." He looked at me.

"Mary." He took my hand in a kind gesture.

"Who has been abusing you?" My eyes widen and I stood up quickly.

"It's was nice meeting you." I was about to walk away when he held me tightly.

"No you don't. I can see it. On your arms and shoulder." My eyes beamed. I looked away.

"I fell." I whisper out. My excuse that I used so many times. It almost felt like the truth but I know it wasn't. And it appeared Blake wasn't buying it.

"You fell? How many times? 20 Times? You can bullshit me Marry. Is it your boyfriend, bully...parents, guardians?" I shook my head.

"I-I can't tell you." He held my wrist. I looked up at him. His eyes were wide and even frighten.

"Alright don't tell me. But come with me. I'll protect you. I can give you safety and comfort." What is he talking about?

"But we don't know each other? I-please let me go." Blake had a look in his eye. A wild one.

"I can't! You-You need help! I can help you! Please le-"

"That's enough Blake. Please darling let her go." Miss. Belle slowly and gently took his hands off my wrist. I brought them up to my chest.

"Blake it's best if you go home. We can talk later." Blake who still had a wild look just nodded. He went to grab his stuff. He quickly wrote something. He went to me.

"I apologize if I scared you. If you need anything here's my number." He place it in my hand and left. Miss. Belle who seemed worry just smiled at me sadly.

"Mary. Blake is a good kid he just-he just need time to get use to." I nodded my head. She hugged me and left me after a minute or so. Not before she asked me if I was alright.

I went back to desk to do my work. With the paper clutch in my hand burning.
