You ran side by side with the masked man. Neither of you said a word, you just ran. "Follow me." He finally spoke. You nodded. He finally slowed down as you reached an old apartment complex. He pushed open the door, not bothering to hold it for you, and walked down the hall.
He stopped and inserted his key into the lock, then opened the door and walked inside. You followed behind him, shutting the door behind you. The man threw the gun onto the table and sighed. You looked at him. "What the hell was that?" You asked. He looked at you, at least you assumed he did. "I just saved your life, sweetheart." He said. "You killed those people!" You said, running a hand through your hair. "Yeah, because they were gonna kill you. I think you got the better end of the deal, doll."
You gulped. "I'm so dead... They're going to report me and I'll be so dead..." You said, beginning pace. "Relax, you won't get caught." The man said, probably rolling his eyes. "You're the dumb*ss who killed them!" You snapped. "Listen, chica. I saved your life! I could've killed you just as easily as I killed them, and I still can. So shut the hell up!" You frowned, but shut your mouth nonetheless, clenching the pendant in your hand.
The man sighed and placed his hands on the table, breathing heavily. He reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out a bottle of pills. He lifted his mask just above his mouth and downed two of the pills. "Now listen," he started after he pulled his mask back down. "I knocked the guy out, then gave him these." The man gave you a different bottle of pills. "Those will completely erase his memory of what happened tonight."
He snatched the bottle back and stuffed them back into his pocket. "Who are you?" You asked. He sighed. "Call me Hoodie, it's what everyone else calls me. Now that I've said my name, who are you?" He turned toward you. "(Y/n)." You answered. "Alright. Now, where do you live? You probably shouldn't go out alone with all those police around. I can sneak you there, easy." Hoodie asked.
You sighed and held up the pendant. "I can't go home yet. I need to give this to my boss." You stated. "Why? Can't you just give it to him tomorrow?" He questioned. "No, he wants it tonight. If I don't get it to him, then I won't get paid." Hoodie crossed his arms. "Why do you need the money so bad? I mean, you almost got killed for that bastard." You sighed and mentally facepalmed. "I'm homeless, dude. He's the only one who'll actually pay me some good cash for what I get him."
Hoodie groaned. "Fine, I'll tag along though. Those police'll be crawling around everywhere." He walked forward and grabbed your arm, then exited the apartment. "Where is he?" Hoodie asked.
The two of you reached the bar. "This is where you boss is?" Hoodie questioned. You sighed. "Yeah, it is." You entered the bar, once again earning wolf-whistles and dirty comments. You ignored the drunk men and walked straight to Seth, slamming the pendant onto the table. "I want my money. The exact amount you promised." You snapped, eyes narrowing.
Seth chuckled and grabbed the pendant. "You actually got it, hmm?" He then noticed Hoodie. "Who the hell is that?" He asked. "I'm her partner, now pay her." Hoodie answered, before you could. You were confused by his answer, but didn't argue. "I'm not paying both of you." Seth stated. Hoodie crossed his arms. "I don't want money. Now pay the girl so we can go." He snapped.
Seth pulled out his wallet and set a fifty on the table. "There." You frowned. "You *sshole! That isn't the amount you promised!" You yelled. He rolled his eyes. "Don't care, sweetheart. I have no need for you anymore. You got me everything I need." Seth sighed. "Now take the fifty." You slammed your fist onto the table. "No, I want the amount promised!"A gun was pressed against your head and your eyes narrowed toward Seth. "Sorry, babe. I need my money. You're just some stupid homeless girl who'll die soon enough." Hoodie spoke up. "I suggest you pay up, *sshole." He spoke darkly. "No way, I'd be more likely to pay you than some homeless chick." Seth said.
In a matter of seconds, Hoodie kicked the man who was holding the gun to your head, knocking him into a wall. He stomped forward, reaching over the table and grabbing Seth's shirt, pulling him close to his masked face. "Pay the girl or I'll make you unrecognizable." He growled.
Let's just say that you left the bar with a lot of money and Hoodie with bloodied fists. He flicked his wrist as the two of you exited. "Thank you." You said, smiling. You'd never had so much money. Now you could probably buy some new clothing and have enough for more food. Hoodie nodded. "Yeah, whatever. It's not that big of a deal." He stated boredly.
You shook your head. "It is to me." You said as the two of you passed a park. You glanced up, then stopped walking. Sitting at one of the park benches was a family, two children and an older mother, wearing worn clothing. Around them they had an old, hole covered blanket. They were obviously homeless, cold and hungry. You stared at them for a moment, then looked at the money in your hands. You had at least seven hundred.
Hoodie paused and watched you walk toward the family. The woman looked up at you with tired blue eyes. You gave her at least three hundred. "There. Go and buy yourselves some new clothes and food." You said and smiled. The woman and the children's eyes lit up, warming your heart. "Thank you so much, miss!" The young boy said and hugged you. You giggled and returned the hug. The woman and daughter also gave you a tight hug.
Hoodie watched the scene play out, and he realized how good your heart was. Even though you were homeless and hungry, you still shared your money with another family. He couldn't help but smile, though it wasn't seen due to his mask. The family pulled back from the embrace with watery eyes and wide grins. You returned the smile, your (e/c) eyes shining.
