As I exit my school counselors office, I shake my head in shame. This is what I get for slacking off those last three years. I'm going to have to work my ass off to make up those credits to graduate. As I open the door to exit the counselor's office, I hear the sound of the lunch bell ringing. Well at least this can give me some time to think. I head towards the cafeteria trudging feet and feeling like I could dress up like a giant purple pimp and eat a world. I get in one of the lines for the cafeteria and get a turkey sandwich with chocolate milk and an apple juice. I hope nobody bumps into me this time like last time. God knows if the next person I spill milk on will be as merciful as the last one. I head over to the library to eat. I like to eat alone and not be distracted by the many people that "know" me. I don't really have any friends or at least "real" friends to be honest although it doesn't really bug me, it would be nice to have someone I could rely on or talk to. The rest of the day passes by like a blur without anything special or interesting happening. I finish up my last of my classwork in my sixth period after the bell rings. I hand it to my teacher and head on home. As I began to walk down the stairs, I notice that there is a girl who is struggling with her books.I guess I could be nice for once. I sigh and move over to the girl and tell her, "You look like you need help with that?" She peeks out from the pile of books.

"Hey there Carina."

"Hi Alex. Ummmmm some help would be nice." she says as I take off two books off of her pile. We both head down the stairs and I walk with her to her car. Out of "male intuition", I began study her facial features as  we are heading over to her car. I notice that she has a very alluring face and her pink lips compliment her rosy cheeks. Her hair is a bright maroon like color. She's probably at least one or two inch shorter than me and also has a lean type body shape. She's got a tiny nose. That's adorable. We finally arrive at her car and I am more than amused at it. I whistle at the nice spectacle of a car she has. Its some sort of muscle type car with a slick red coat of paint that reflects the suns rays of it. As we walk past the back tire, I'm able to see our warped reflections in the wheel.  Damn. She sure does know how to take car of a nice ride like that. I stand next to the car waiting for her to place her books in the car. Man I really wish I had a car right about now. Beats walking everyday to and from school. She then goes to grab the last of her books and places them in her car. I turn to walk around and begin my walk home before she yells at me to wait. I turn around and ask her, "What is it?"

"I wanted to say thank you." She says in a sweet voice.

"Don't mention it. Well...... I guess I'll see you around." I turn once more but once again she yells at me to wait. I turn around once more to see what she has to say.

"Do you have a ride home?"

"Not really."

"Well where do you live?"

She can't be serious?

"About two or three miles from here. Why?"

"Well...... I was... wondering if I could give you ride home?" I raise an eyebrow towards her and don't respond for a few seconds. "Sure. Why not?" I tell her before I walk over to the passenger side of her car as she gets in the drivers seat. I reluctantly embrace the wave of new car smell as she  revs up the engine. "Alright," she asks me, "Where to?"

For the first few seconds of the car ride there is an awkward silence between us. "So you're a senior?" I ask her as she turns the corner onto the street leading out of the high school. "Yeah, are you?" I ask her. She nods her head and I try to think of another question to get the conversation going. "So do you know what you're going to do with your life after high school?" I ask her in a curious tone. She sits for a second in silence. "Well I know that I will be doing something in criminal justice but," she says in a determined voice, "I don't know what exactly I will do in that field of work." She says in an uncertain tone. Soon enough we arrive at my house.
