Shawn P.O.V

I finally get settled into my new hotel suite as I take a seat on the king sized bed to relax.

I was now fully determined to find lauri and her safety was my only concern.

I just hope she hasn't forgot about me.

Knock, Knock!!!

I then get up to answer the door but hesitate as the beating on the door gets louder. Grabbing my gun quick I slowly open the door but the sight of my cousin Brian makes me suck my teeth and put the gun down.

"Miss me?" he ask grinning widely.

I roll my eyes as I move aside to let him in.

It had been over four years since the last time I seen him and he looked buffer and more powerful.

We both lived in Cali our whole lives but lived different lives mainly because we were raised in different areas.

My mom took him in when he was twelve after my aunt, his mom, passed from being, raped, robbed and shot down in the hands of some drug dealer she claimed she was in love with.

He wasn't use to the ways my mom and I lived or the quiet neighborhood we lived in which caused him to move out by the time he was sixteen. The peaceful life just wasn't for him. Just like the fast life isn't for me.

Since then we've barely been in touch even though we lived in the same state but different cities. He was too high in the drug game trying to be the best king pin possible that he forgot about the only family member he has left, until now.

"So how you been Ria?" he ask calling me by my first name.

"Good I guess. How bout you?" I ask.

"I been aite. Just getting this money ya know." he says and I give him a head nod.

"Hows your business going, I hear your really making a name for yourself?" I ask.

"Better than I thought it would. I'm just a couple millions away from being a billionaire and once that happens I'm letting it all go." he explains. I was actually happy that he was finally about to let the fast life go to start enjoying life before he's to old or it's too late.

"I hear ya, but how did you know I was up here?" I ask curious because he doesn't have my number to call me or anything.

"One of my workers of course. I haven't forgotten about you ria whether you realize it or not but I still love and care about you and your safety but just from a distance. I've been having a few people keep tabs on you but I've made sure they don't invade in your personal life or no shit like that." he tells me. I then smile knowing that he still cared and continued to look out from me even if it was from a distance.

"Thanks Brian. I really needed to hear that." I tell him as I try to hold back tears.

"You aite Ria?" he ask with concern in his eyes.

"Yep, I'm fine. Just happy to see you again after all these years and to know you haven't forgot about me." I say.

"Of course im not gone forget about my favorite cousin and the only family member I got left. We all we got ria and I just want you to know I'm here for you and anything you need I got you." he tells me before I embrace him into a hug. He was like a brother to me and I could tell he was here to stay.

"Well, it's getting late. but it was good seeing you again and getting some things straight." I tell him as I escort him to the door.

"Same to you Ria and heres my number. Please don't hesitate to use it." he says handing me a peice of sticky note paper with his number on it.

"I won't, trust me." I say as I watch him leave out. He gives me a peace sigh before I close and lock the door.

I then save his number to my contacts and strangely it pops up from call log which was odd.

I ignore it and put my phone on the bedside table before turning off the light and getting some sleep.

I wasn't expecting this myself but wow. (Lol)

Hope you all are enjoying these unexpected chapters just as much as im enjoying writing them.

It only gets better.
