Ever since kinder-garden I've always been very talkative, speaking and cracking jokes all the time. I wasn't the kind of person who would give rest to their mouth, and when I wouldn't talk for five minutes straight it'll be easy to say that she is sick or pre-occupied. Once a class fellow just asked me to listen to everything and close my eyes. Tell you what, that experience was epic and I could just feel superior and feel as if my ears would explode any moment, but at the same time it was peace in between chaos. Someone was talking about how well their mother can cook, someone was planning a get together, someone was having boy talks and me, I was just sitting and feeling the peace slowly penetrate into my mind and heart.

My family and I were on a trip to Murree, it's a hill top in Pakistan with an amazing view and if you're lucky; amazing weather too. It's a full-fledge city with food stalls and shops etcetera. It was once green and beautiful but of course what happens when too many too cool to throw trash in the bin people visit these places? Obviously litter is the beauty left. (If you ever decide to visit Pakistan, do visit it)

So this one time we visited Murree, my mom and I were walking back to our Rest house when my mom pointed to the huge building at the starting point of Mall and told me it was G.P.O; General Post Office. Now yes it was a regular post office but what amazed me were the stairs, filled with people; eating, drinking, talking, catching their breath, just enjoying the moment. My mother told me that "Elena, dekho zara, kaysay saray log baythay huay hain. Jab ham chotay hotay thay to Ammi hamain yahan lati thin aur Khala aur main yahan ice-cream lay kar bayth jatay thay aur logo ko dekhtay thay. Bohat maza ata hay, sab ko dekho, sab kay chahray per expressions dekho aur socho kay wo kia soch raye hain" (Elena, look over there, see the way people are sitting there. When we were young our Mother used to bring us here and your Aunty and I would get ice-creams and sit over here and watch people. It was really fun, watch everyone, watch their expressions and think that what are they thinking."

The noise of glasses being kinked together and giggles and laughs and swears filled my ears. I would've felt superior like I once did, but now that little peace of my mind was long snatched away. All I was now left with was the feeling that nothing will ever be the same for me again. The beast beside me didn't have a heart, couldn't love-he was nothing just a box of smelly old socks. He lied and lived. His life was simple unlike mine who he had destroyed. He could never love, he was incapable of loving. All he was good at was hurting without meaning.

His grip on my waist was tight, I'm sure it would leave marks. He kept me close, showing that I was his property, I tried to wriggle out of his hold a few times but the daggers he shot me were enough to make me stop.

We were standing with the boys, congratulating them on their next album and he was laughing like nothing was wrong in the world, like he wasn't just marking my skin with crests. They talked about business, about how well everything was, how it couldn't be better. I was lost in my own little world, looking around, trying to find a girl who was being oppressed by her husband and squirming under his deathly glares but there was none, none. Every woman around as laughing and dancing and enjoying like there was no tomorrow. Now obviously they didn't have a son of a biscuit as their husband. They didn't h-, I was cut off by a sharp sting on my waist, I looked back and everyone was looking at me, then I did the mistake of looking at him and I had to take a sharp breath, apparently I hadn't replied when the boys had asked me something and so I would have a really nice time being beaten up afterwards, jolly.

"So how are you Elena? Haven't seen you in ages, you didn't even come on my birthday party, you had eh- a- fractured your leg?" Liam asked me, he repeated his question I guess. "

" Uh-yeah, sorry about that, I was supposed to be on bed rest"

"Why do you have to be so clumsy? How did you fractured it?" He asked.

"Ummm fell off the stairs." My leg wasn't fractured it was cut open due to your best friend.

"Oh, well I hope you are okay now" he gave me a crooked smile, which I returned.

"Okay so guys do you want to hear the music?" Louis chirped clapping his hands.

"Sure" he replied.

And so the night began. The boys had beautiful voices, I've always been a big fan of them, they started singing their songs from the new album and i started learning the songs as they sang them, the first one was Perfect, i'd heard it before, learned it by heart and sang along the guys, he looked over at me and saw me moving ever so lightly and singing along, he passed me a smile which melted my insides but i smiled back. Oh My God that was wow!

Next they sang a song called History and it was an amazing song, i learned the lines as they went along, old time fangirl was back in business. They night was young and for once i was enjoying, i forgot the hand at my waist and sang and moved and fluttered whenever he looked over from the stage. I think he got an idea that i was acting differently but he didn't say anything, just smile when i smiled. I was enjoying and not caring about what was going to happen to me after this, because he had seen the little exchange and anger was radiating off of him.
