Hey guys! I have been at my friend's house for the past two weeks, and I just got back yesterday. I would've written the chapter in the car because it was a five hour drive, but I get really car sick and can't look anywhere except directly in front of me for more than a minute otherwise I get really dizzy. This chapter is going to be short because I don't really have a lot of time and i need to update soon so yea here you go.

Sleeping at Niall's house was weird. It just felt so... awkward. He let me take the guest bedroom, and I told Jacob I was staying at a friends. Niall was up all night making sure he didn't come to my house. I couldn't sleep either. I was up arguing with myself because of what I told him. I didn't want him involved in any of this mess.

I stopped thinking about it and grabbed my phone, checking if I had any messages. Niall walked into the room a few minutes later.

"Hey, um, are you hungry? I can make breakfast if you want," he smiled.

"Yea, that would be nice, thanks. For everything." I said, getting out of the bed and remaking it. I couldn't help but steal a few glances at him, for he had a see through wife beater on.

"You know, you don't have to make the bed," he laughed.

"Well, I want to, it's the least I can do, considering we still barely know eachother and making a good first impression is important to me," I stated. He nodded and left the room, probably to make food. I finished making the bed, making it look neat by placing the pillows in correct order. I then went to the bathroom to finger comb my hair and fix it into a messy side braid. I straightened out my clothes and found my way to the kitchen. The smell of rosemary and thyme filled the room, and I looked over to see that he was making country fries(A/N: if you don't know what those are, they're chopped up potatoes and you cook them in a pan and they are amazing).

"It smells really good," I told him.

"Thanks. Mom's recipe," he said, looking at me. My phone buzzed from my back pocket, and I tensed. Niall seemed to notice this, and he stepped up behind me, watching as I pulled my phone out.

A wave of relief washed over me when I saw my boss's name on the screen. I hit answer and waited for her to start talking.

"Hey, Kieran. Just wanted to let you know that your shift starts at 1:30. You should be done by 7."

"Thanks for letting me know, I will be there."

"Kieran?" She asked, with a hint of worry in her voice.

"Yes, Lis?" I knew what she was going to ask.

"Is everything alright? With you and-"

"Actually no, but I will tell you when I get there. But I am okay," I reassured her.

Lis knew everything about what happened. She was one of my mother's close friends, before she died. I trusted her enough to tell her everything, and she has supported me the whole way. She used to try to get me to break up with jake, but she knows at this point I am just too terrified. We both knew what he was capable of when we were together, but we didn't know how he would react if we weren't. I'm pretty sure he is capable of killing me.

"Alright, be careful hunny," she said, and with that, the line went dead.

I looked up at Niall, who was scooping the potatoes on a plate, and filling the glasses up with orange juice.

"Sorry, it was my boss," I said, sliding my phone into my jeans. "I have to work later." I told him.

"Where do you work?" He asked, curiosity in his eyes.
