Maybe Christmas Isn't That Bad Afterall..

{Christmas One-Shot}

{ 7:31 PM, Friday, Christmas Day }

We had just warped back to the house after a mission, and by we I meant Garnet, Lapis and I. The mission was not too special, but I honestly had what the Steven calls.. "fun". I seen Lapis wander over to the house door, and I had remembered that I planned to talk with her, I had a present to give her. The Steven told me to give her a present, to confirm our friendship now.

"Oh, Lazulli, Wait up!" I called out, picking up the present from the couch and then speed walking to her until I caught up. I had the present behind my back, hiding it. She had turned around to look at me, seeing what I needed. I cleared my throat, and met eye level with her, she looked as if she was slightly nervous my how close I was at the time, hell, I hadn't even noticed. I scooted back a bit, mumbling out a "My bad.."

"Anyways," I started gripping the present hard, and continued. "I wanted to give you something, something that could determind our.. friendship.." She seemed interested after my words. I pulled out the present, lifting it up to the her. "I'm sorry for our past.. I never wanted what happened to happen." She took the present, smiling a bit.

Seeing her smile encouraged me to attempt a smile myself, but when I did, it looked all goofy. She then started to mumble as she opened her present. "Thank you, Peridot. And I guess.. I guess I can forgive you for what you did, you never really did hurt me, you would always try to encourage me to stay strong, and you seemed concerned, a lot." She added the last words in a teasing way, which caused me to blush slightly.

She seen my blush and gave a slight chuckle. But soon her expression changed to surprised after seeing the present. It was a silver necklace with a beautiful, and smooth Lapis Lazulli hanging from it. I didn't understand if she enjoyed it, or hated it, I started to panic. Then, a force hit me, almost knocking me down, I was surprised when I realised what was happening.

Lapis was hugging me.

"Oh my stars, Peridot. I love it..!" I heard her muffle through the hug. I blushed lightly and hugged back. I could tell she was surprised by the way her breath hitched as I returned the hug. She soon eased, and hugged tighter. I heard a slight fit of giggles from around the corner, and I seen Amethyst and the Steven peeking out from the corner.

I raised a brow, blushing a dark shade of green. Amethyst pointed up, and I understood what she was wanting. She want me to look up. Slowly, and hesitantly, I looked up and what I seen caused my entire face to grow dark green. I was speechless.

After looking up, I had seen a plant. Green leaves with two bright red berries hanging down. Mistletoe. "O-Oh.." I had whispered, my voice cracking ever so slightly. Lapis pulled away, humming lightly "Hmm?", she seen how dark my blush was, and blushed a bit herself.

I met her eyes, then looked back up to the mistletoe. Her eyes followed to where I looked, and when she realised, she blushed deeper as well. Then, she began to chuckle, "Did you plan this?" She teased. I immediately began to stammer, flustered, "N-No! I just..I-" She cut me off, by getting closer to my face to where we were nose to nose, and whispered.

"Just shut up and kiss me, nerd~"

Maybe Christmas isn't that bad afterall..
