Chapter 3: Firelight Fountain

Kang's POV
I took Lee to the Firelight Fountain. The fountain had beautiful, glimmering lanterns that sparkle in the water. They even had light poles all around which illuminated the whole fountain. Once we got there...it was dark. None of the lanterns were lit. I sighed. I looked at Lee and said, "They didn't light them..." I looked down and sighed. I could feel his eyes on me. I looked at him;he then said, "close your eyes". I covered my eyes and I waited til he told me I could look. I finally heard him say, "ok you can open your eyes". I looked and all the lights were lit. I was shocked how could he do it in like a few seconds unless...unless he's a fire bender!! I looked at him and hugged him tightly, then pulled away to look at him. He looked a little familiar to me, like I've seen him before. I touched his face, " You're a firebender." His eyes widened and his voice cracked as he said, "What??? No no no. Why would you think that?" I kissed him while holding his cheek. I felt his hands go to my waist and he kissed back. I felt passion between us. I never wanted the kids to end ,but I had to pull away. I looked in his eyes. "I know you're a firebender. How else could you light the lanterns? And how else could you have done this?", I said raising my hands. He looked at me surprised, "That was you? You were in the forest?" I nodded. She looked at me, "so you're admitting that you're a firebender?" I gazed into her eyes and nods ,but quickly said "don't tell ANYONE." I nodded, "I won't" I leaned in a kissed him again ,but I held his hands this time tightly. I couldn't stop kissing him because I felt a spark. After about a few more seconds, he pulled away and looked at me. "I-i can't...I'm sorry I burned you ,but I'm sorry I have to go", he said to me as he ran off. I sat at the fountain, sad, wanting to just cry. I walked home, in the dark.
*Next Few Days*
Zuko's POV
Kang hasn't been to work in like 3 days. I hope she's okay. I'm such an idiot. My gosh I'm so mad at myself. Uncle Iroh asked me, " what happened? Where has Kang been? What did you do?" I sighed, "I-i don't know ,but she kissed me twice and she knows I'm a fire bender..." His head nearly exploded when I told him about her knowing I'm a fire bender. He yelled, "WHAT! Are you kidding me!? She probably isn't here because she turned us in! You are crazy!" "okay uncle. I will go over to her parents' restaurant and see what to do", I said softly. I grabbed my hat and went over to the middle ring and to the Emerald Jewel. I ran in and saw Kang's mother. "Um...Hi I was wondering is Kang is okay", I said looking down,scratching my neck. She sighed and put her tray down,looked at me and said, "No she's not okay. She's been at home for the past few days". I looked up at her, "Is there away for you to tell me where your house is? I would like to apologize to her." She nodded and replied, "I guess so. Just go down the street across the bridge and past the flower shop to your right, our house is the one with the orchids in front of it. But next time I see her she better be a happy girl." I bowed and thanked her. I ran off to the house with the orchids. I knocked and waited til she opened the door. She opened it and looked at me, "why are you here?" I looked, "I'm here to apologize, may I at least come in?" She opened the door wider and let me in.
