(Marinette's POV)

Chat leads me out of the jungle. "Okay, so, the path to the rebel camps is dangerous. I'm telling you this now so you can be prepared," he says. "It will be tough, but we'll see how things go."

I nod. "I can get through it. This place is supposed to make me stronger," I say.

He glances at me as he walks down the now stony path. "Your face is red."

I put my hand on my cheek feeling it's warmth. I turn away with a huff. 'Stop blushing! He obviously notices it!'

"You're as red as your suit. Like a real ladybug. Could it be the bug is falling for the cat?" He asks with a smirk.

I furiously shake my head. "No! I don't know what you're talking about!"

He grabs my hand and pulls me close. "I'll protect you down the dangerous paths, my lady."

I push him away. "I can protect myself and you know that."

He pouts. "Fine. But if you get into trouble and need my help, expect an 'I told you so,'" he says.

I roll my eyes. "Sure, whatever Kitty."

He continues down the stony path taking lefts and rights. 'If I was by myself, I would definitely get lost here,' I think.

I watch Chat from behind to make sure if anything goes wrong, or something happens I can tell by his reactions. 'Nothing dangerous has happened yet. Are there traps? Terrain? Maybe wild things in this world,' I wonder.

Just then I step on something soft. I look down to see a rope. 'What is this?' I take my foot off of it and bend down.

I pull on it. Seconds later I here Chat give a yell.

I look up to see him hung up by his ankle. He glares at me. "What did you do?"

I set the rope down. "N-nothing. I just, saw the rope. And I didn't know what it was going to do. Plus, what were the chances of you being in that spot as I pulled it," I say getting up.

He huffs. "Well can you get me down somehow. And maybe give me a kiss before you do so," he says with a smirk.

I roll my eyes and follow the rope to a branch. I untie it letting Chat fall. "Oops. Must have slipped," I say.

He stands up brushing himself off with a sigh. He mutters something before continuing down the path.

"What was that?" I ask.

He turns to me. "Nothing you'll care to hear. You'll just say something to dismiss it."

"How do you know? You won't know for sure unless you say it loud enough for me to hear," I say.

"Just forget it. It wasn't important anyways," he says. He starts walking again, being careful of his surroundings.

I grimace. 'I just want to know what you said. Did I push a wrong button? Or a right one to hard? Maybe a wrong one very hard. But even when we'd act this way towards each other before, he never acted like this,' I sigh.

He glances at me. "Look, I'm just trying to stay focused. We need to get you to rebel camps. Fast. I need to stop getting distracted, okay?"

"Not even a little fun? It doesn't all have to be serious. I mean, in a crisis maybe, but not in moments like these," I say. I look down. "I'm sorry if I hurt you though," I turn away feeling warmth coming to my cheeks. "I just... sometimes I don't know how to act around you. Or I do, but get carried away with that, or something completely different. I... I don't know."
