"Hey, Katie!" said Todd as I heard him running towards me in the hall.

I turned around, "Hey, Todd."

I was really embarrassed to talk to him after the situation my parents put me in. Yet, he was acting as if it had never happened.

"So, your parents seem to like me."

There it was.

"Uhm... Yea... I'm sorry about that. My parents can be so embarrassing."

"C'mon, all parents are embarrassing. Remember mine when you stayed for dinner lady week?"

"Oh... Haha... Yeah... But they were really nice."

"I could say the same about yours. By the way, how come you never talked about your dad? I didn't even know you had one till I saw him that day."

"Oh Todd, everyone has a dad. If I didn't, how would I be here?" I said trying to avoid the question.

He chuckled, "You know what I mean."

"Well, he left us. Then he kinda came back on the weekend."

"Oh... I'm sorry for asking."

"It's okay. You didn't know."

"Well, why don't we walk to our first class together?"

"Sure."

I walked with him happy and satisfied, yet uneasy and worried, for the queen of the school had seen us together once again.

And I still didn't know her name.

"Omg he sooo likes you!" squealed Erica after I told her of my embarrassing encounter with Todd. If she was going to be my best friend she was going to listen. Luckily our other lunch friends weren't at the table yet.

"No he doesn't! Stop saying that!"

"But you like him..."

"No I don't!"

"Then why are you do embarrassed about what happened?"

"Because he's the golden guy of the school and my family embarrassed me in front of him!"

"Oh!" she gasped with her hands covering her mouth, "Golden guy! You DO like him!"

"No! I didn't mean it like that! I--"

"Stop stuttering and admit it! You like him you like him..." she sang.

"Shh! I said covering her mouth, "Do you have any idea what that queen of mean would do to me if she heard that?"

"Oh! I get it! You want to date him but you can't because that bitch is keeping you apart! Omg it's just like Romeo and Juliet!"

"It is NOTHING like Romeo and Juliet! The only similarity is that we can't be together! That's IT!"

"Well, that's refreshing to hear, since I really don't want you two killing yourselves later on."

"Don't worry, you're stuck with me. This is NOT some love story."

Just a high school story.

"By the way," I started curiously, "What is the name of Ms. Prissy?"

"Oh, it's--"

"Hey guys!" said Arty and Robbie coming to the table.

"Hey guys! What's up?" replied Erica.

"The carbon dioxide levels in the air which will cause us humans to die out in the future because we won't have enough oxygen due to our careless environmental behaviour," replied Robby.
