Chapter 1

It was another beautiful day in Konoha, the birds were singing, the chickens were clucking and the young children slowly woke from their slumber. It was a peaceful day-

"NARUTO!" or so it was. "Sakura I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" the blonde haired apologized as he jumped from one roof to the other.

The blonde runner known as Naruto zipped  his black and orange track suit  as he picks up his speed, trying to outrun from the pink flash behind.

The pinkette known as Sakura, flew past the roof as if she was lightning, her short knee length red dress flying with her every moment.

"GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE TWERP!" Sakura screamed following the blonde in front of her.

"I didn't mean to look! It was the old geezer!  I was just-" Naruto looked back to reason with the pinkette, only to be hit on the forward with two flying shurikens.

"Uh uh." He stopped in his tracks as he fell on his back with  a thump.  "Hmph, if I ever seen you in the spring baths again. I'm going to send you all the way to the Sand village." Sakura said with a vein popping on the side of her forehead.

She saw her friend in pain from the two shurikens stabbed onto his forehead, feeling abit guilty the young  kunoichi sighed as she knelt and pulled the shurikens off his head.

Blood slowly trickled down his forehead, muttering curses she raised a hand above his forehead.  Mustering up her chakra her hands glowed a neon green.

The blood slowly subsided, and healed up the scar as if two sharp objects didn't touch his skin. Finishing up she gets up and smacks his head "Ow! He groans.

"Au revoir." she said smiling before  disappearing into a puff off smoke. He quickly gets up cross legged and mumbles.

"Tsk. Naruto." He stops to the familiar voice as he turns his head

"You still haven't changed."

"Hehe. Shikamaru welcome back. I thought you died or something." Naruto got up and high fived his friend.

"Where's the rest of the team?" Naruto asks "Reporting back to the Hokage." Shikamaru replied, he leaned onto the roof wall, his hair in his normal spikes, wearing his usual black long sleeved shirt, green sleeveless jacket, black pants that reached above his ankles and black sandals.

"Where's Sasuke?" Shikamaru asks  as he shoved his hands in his pocket, "Training with Kakashi." Naruto replied with a shrug.

Shikamaru gets off the wall as he followed behind Naruto "Let's go grab some lunch." He grinned to which the teen smirks and nods.

The two friends caught up with their mission reports as they made their way to their favourite ramen place.

"Honestly that Naruto." Sakura said as she pulled her hair back in a small ponytail. She then pulls a long sleeved jacket around her tying the strings into a knot.

"Sakura, m-maybe he didn't mean to peek." Hinata said blushing at her crushes attempt of peeking. Finishing up in the bath house, they made their  way through the forest, it was a safe route to one of the villages herb gardens.

They chatted away happily without a care in the world as they crossed through,  both stopped feeling the presence of something. The two positioned back to back with their weapons on the go, a small little rustle caught the two's attention.

"Did you hear that?" Sakura asks as she stopped and stared at the green bush. "Yeah I did." Hinata replied as she turned her byakugan on she scanned the area.
