Chapter 2: Stuck in a Hole

Mavis is back at the Fairy Tail guild and shares her adventures with a fellow guild member.

Yuri: Well it seems that you had a very interesting trip Mavis.

Mavis: Ha yes, but something happened along the way.

Yuri: Oh what, tell me!

Mavis: So... as I was walking through the forest, I stumbled upon a beast and since my magic isn't strong enough I couldn't do much so I just ran. I noticed a cave close by and decided to hide there. The beast obviously found me, but fortunately this young man came and must've heard me yell out for help. The next thing you know, the beast drops to the floor and the young man just leaves. I never got to thank him.

Yuri: You have to be careful next time Mavis, you know how dangerous those woods can be.

Mavis: I know and I'm sorry!

Yuri: I'm glad you're safe, and you should definitely find him again, maybe get him to join our guild?

Mavis: He doesn't seem like the type to be a guild member, but I would love to meet and thank him!

Yuri: Then go find him! Don't worry, I'll keep in charge of the guild while you're gone.

Yuri smirks as Mavis walks out of the guild. She heads out seeking Zeref, while he's wondering through the forest  and crosses paths with a butterfly.

Zeref (POV): Oh- a butterfly. It reminds me of the fairies in the books my Mother would read to me. They're so magical, if only I could touch them.

Mavis is back in the forest in hopes of finding the young man who saved her. But without realizing it, she trips into a deep hole.

*THUMP!

Mavis: Ugh! Ow that hurts.

Zeref (POV): What was that? Don't tell me it's that girl from earlier!

As Mavis looks up from below she notices a young man, dressed in a high-collared black robe with gold trim, along with a large, flowing white toga draped around his torso. He has short black hair and dark eyes. She knew he was the one who saved her.

Zeref: Are you okay down there?!

Mavis: I'm alright! Just a few scrapes and bruises, but I'll be fine.

Zeref: Can you get up ?

Mavis: I can't it's too steep!

Zeref then grabs a tree branch and it begins to shrivel up and die in his hands. Mavis soon begins to worry and Zeref was out of ideas.

Mavis: Hey! Are you still there?

Zeref: Yeah, I'm right beside the hole.

Mavis: Okay.. since I'm stuck here, I'd like to say thank you. I'm glad you were there to save me earlier today!

Zeref: Oh. You're welcome.

Mavis smiled and as the sun set, she became sleepy. Zeref was beside the hole she was in and started thinking of how beautiful she looked. She wore a frilly, light pink layered robe with a red ribbon tied in a bow around her neck. Around the chest, there are three blue diamond patterns with two blue triangles above. She also wore wing-like adornments around her ears and has platinum blonde hair and big green eyes. Although they can never be together, he still wants to help her again even if it means risking her life.
