Carrie saw a huge chunk of concrete getting ready to release from its precarious hold. "Brian!" she screamed, flinging his hand from her arm. The motion sent him tumbling backward into the rubble, and he landed on his back in perfect view of the block as it fell.
Carrie watched as the block let go and came tumbling straight at her. She began to scream and tried to scramble away. I don't want to die!
Her brain cracked and the world twisted in that second. And—
A body came flying at her from seemingly nowhere and tackled her out of the path of the deadly falling concrete. She hurtled dangerously close to the windows, until they finally halted by more rubble and another body. She looked up at a face she'd never seen before, and simply passed out from the shock.
