Adelaides pov:
I was pushed up against my locker by some blonde haired chick named Marie Jackson. She punched me and kicked me till I started to bleed. My life is awful and sometimes I just wanna give up on life sometimes but I choose not to because I know that I was put here for a reason. When she was done, she dropped me down and I was left there to cry. Crying my eyes out. No friends, no teachers and no family, at least right now, to help her through this. The bell rang and I grabbed my books as fast as I could, so I could get out of here and just go home. I left the building, pretty much running so I don't miss the bus. I got onto the bus and sat alone like always and started my homework. When I got to my bus stop I got up and walked off the bus, then to my house and into the door. I put my backpack down and finished my homework. I started to cry as my mum came over and comforted me. My dad came over too and gave me some water. "It's going to get better I promise Addie." My mum said to me rubbing my back "that's what you say every time and it's not true, if you think I'm going to actually make friends then you must be mad!" I screamed. I started to cry again and they wouldn't stop. I didn't eat that night and I didn't go to sleep either. I was lucky that it was a Friday and that the next day was Saturday and that there's no one else who can bother me at all.
The next morning I got up and rubbed my eyes. I felt bad about what I said yesterday and I wanted to make it up to my parents. I got a tray and made them breakfast in bed with a note that said 'the best people are the mad ones :)' and got changed into a purple tee, black jeans, black dr. Martins and a black leather jacket. I got the mail and looked through it with curiosity. To my surprise, there was a letter for me and above the wax that enclosed it read 'Hogwarts' What kinda name is that? Hogwarts? Rubbish, honestly. I opened it nervously and looked at the fine print. It said:
Dear Adelaide Dawson,
We are pleased to announce to you that you have been selected to go to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry! I hope you will be able to buy all of the items on the list provided:
Dark side-for defense against the dark arts
Hogwarts a History-for Magic History
And spell books that will be given if you just show them the letter.
We will hopefully see you there on October 1st!

I stood there in shock. How could I not have known I have had magic this entire time? How could my parents not know? Did they know? Everything about the world as we know it has just changed because of this one letter. Bloody hell Addie pull yourself together mate. I put the card in my pocket and walked inside. I told my parents and they told me all about the wizarding world and how they met at Hogwarts and how they were waiting for me to get my letter. On September 31, 9:00 pm I was packed and ready to go to the train station the next day. Maybe tomorrow is my chance to start over and actually make friends. I got changed into my pajamas and turned off the light. I started to think about what Hogwarts what may be like and with that I drifted off into a sleep.
