God, I wish I had my bike.
Walking home in the rain made me think, I probably shouldn’t get into a random persons car again, it obviously wasn’t a smart idea, even though she was my age, and seemed quite nice... she had my bike.
-Brinnggg Brinnngg!-
I jumped out of my skin, as I reached for my pocket, I had forgotten all about my phone.
“Hello?” I called out into the small device.
“Hey, Lola? Its Lisa, Honey where are you?”
“Sorry, urrm, Im down this road..... a lane? I don't know, I think I’m about ten minutes away from the house.”
“Oh, that’s fine, I just wondered if you would be spending dinner with us or eating on your own?” She asked very politely. I could tell by the strain in her voice that she didn’t really feel like doing much, and she was just asking the question to be polite.
“Thanks Aunt Lisa, but im fine, honestly. Iv got a pizza too cook, and I just wanna get into my pjs and watch a bit of telly!” I laughed down the phone.
“Oh good. Me and Brad where not very hungry, and since you have something to eat? Anyway...Ill pop round later on to just check in, so see you later!”
“Ok, cya!” I hung up.
Jeez, talk about the heavens opening. I literally couldn’t see in front of me. Every time I blinked, the rain would just wash over my eye again. Seriously, i must look even worse then I feel, because at that moment, I could just make out a cream beetle stopping beside me.
“Hey Lola, you look like you could use a ride, and a wash!” A familiar voice boomed out from the, what looked like a very, warm car.
“I really could,” I admitted, laughing.
“Hop in.” Cassy smiled.
I jumped into the passenger seat, carefully, I didn’t want to ruin her leather white seats. Talk about good luck. By the time I got home I might of actually drowned.
“Oh jeez, your a bit wet.” Cassy cringed at me. I pulled down the mirror and stared at a dripping, scruffy girl staring back at me.
“Tell me about it! I had to walk twenty minutes in the god forsaken rain!”
Laughing she pointed to her boot.
“Yea, walk....You forgot your bike! Iv been driving round, trying to find you for ages, eventually I gave up and was coming home, when I spotted you dawdling round the place.”
“Haha, yea. Im just glad I remembered where I live!”
I laughed, scrunching my hair up.
Thank god Cassy came when she did, because the heavy rain outside, looked like it was about to turn into a major thunderstorm any second.
Cassy obviously noticed me staring into the huge, dropping rain drops on the windscreen.
"Yea, the weather here is totally werid, one minute its heatwaves- the next its lightining bolts and heavy showers, crazy huh?"
"haha, yea...weird."
"So, how come your in Beauport?"Cassy asked polietly.
"I, um...came to visit my aunt and uncle."
"How long you staying then?"
"I dont know, a few months i think...."
"Well that doesnt sound like 'just a visit', didnt you say you were starting my school?" Cassy looked at me with a confused expression on her face.
