I went back into the living room, my mind completely puzzled. Why does he need a maid? And not just any maid, and very special maid? Am I going to regret this? Why did he have a weird little smirk on his face? So many questions were racing through my mind. I gasped.
"I need to get packed." I jumped off the couch and ran up the stairs to my room. I quickly flung open my closet door and pulled the large suitcase off the top shelf. As soon as I finally got the gigantic suitcase down, just about everything else fell off the shelf.
"Way to go." I muttered to myself. I bent down to pick everything up. I slowly put it in the suitcase, careful not to break anything. I came across a picture. It was of me and my ex boyfriend, Jake. We used to be, or I thought to be, in love, until he just suddenly left one day. Fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over my eyes, I threw the picture in the trash can. "I'm over him." I said to myself into the mirror. I went back to picking up the rest of the items that fell out of the closet. I found an old scrapbook that my best friend Kaitlin and I made together. I smiled and opened it up. On the first page was a picture of the day we first met. We were in kindergarten and we were in Mrs. Bear's class. We sat next to each other. She introduced herself to me and she was indubitably funny and from then on, we were best friends. We hung out together all of the time, went to each other's birthday parties. We were there for each other during the good times, the bad times. She was there for me during the times I was bullied. She stood up for me, fearless of being hurt by our peers. She was strong. I continued flipping through the scrapbook, remembering each and every photograph, each story behind it.
I finished packing a few hours later. When I looked at the clock, I saw that I had about half an hour until the cab picks me up. I sat on the couch and started eating more nutella, my nerves starting to get the best of me. I set the nutella back down after another spoonful of the hazelnut spread. I pinched the bridge of my nose, thinking about what could happen to me if this guy ended up being a serial killer or a rapist or even a kidnapper. I took a deep breath. None of that's going to happen. Although he did say he knew me, but I didn't know him. And I'm more beautiful in person. He knew where I lived... Oh my God, is he stalking me? My jaw dropped and my eyebrows knit together. Maybe this was a bad idea...
A knock sounded at the door. I quickly rose from the sofa, and answered it. I unlocked the lock and when I opened the door, Harry was standing there again, in the same clothes he was wearing earlier, but something seemed off.
"Ready Love?" He asked, with a warm smile, showing off his bright white teeth. I nodded and went back upstairs to collect my things. Harry followed me up, and sat on my bed. He smirked as he saw my attempt to get all my bags at once. "Let me take these." He was behind me unexpectedly. I screeched a bit, him almost giving me a heart attack. He chuckled, a deep rumbling escaping from the back of his throat. He lifted my bags as if they weighed nothing. My jaw was nearly on the ground as I followed him down the stairs, carrying my coat. I opened the door for him and before walking out myself, I took one last look at my apartment. I realized there was one thing left that I needed. I walked over to the wall, and carefully took off the photograph of my parents and I before the accident. I sighed and walked out of the flat, tucking the picture under my coat. I didn't bother locking the door, but I left the keys under the mat. I walked down the hallway and quickly caught up with Harry. I took one of my bags from his hands, much to his objection and carried it, struggling quite a bit, down the stairs. We finally reached the lobby after two large flights of stairs. Why he chose the stairs is beyond me. I held the door leading outside open for him. I followed him to the parking lot, just a little ways down the side walk. We finally reached his car, a large black ford SUV. He popped the trunk and carefully put my belongings inside the SUV. He opened the front door for me, and held out a hand to help me climb inside because of the big step. I smiled at him and then he closed the door, hopping in on the other side.
