I awake the next morning and smell food cooking. Is that.....pancakes? I run to the kitchen and see Phil sipping tea while Dan is at the stove.
"You're up!" Phil exclaims, causing Dan to turn around and smile.
"Um, yeah. So do I smell food?" I ask. Phil laughs.
"Yes, come eat breakfast." He pats the seat next to him and Dan slides a plate over to me.
"So, I was thinking we could do some shopping today. You might want to personalize your room or get new clothes or something." Dan says, turning off the stove and putting a plate in front of Phil.
"Sounds great!" I say. Phil nods, and we all eat our pancakes.

"I can't believe we did all of that shopping!" Dan says, and Phil flops on the couch.
"Sorry!" I say.
"Why are you sorry? We wanted to get all that stuff for you. It's just we spent two hours getting it and we are exhausted." Dan tries to help, but it's not really working.
"Sorry. I'm really sorry." I say, tears welling up in my eyes. Dan looks at Phil. And then they pull me onto the couch with them.
"Don't be sorry. Really, it's not a big deal." Phil says, but I still can't make myself look at them. Thoughts just keep swirling in my mind.
Why did I make them spend so much money on me? They probably hate me now. I'm too much of a burden. They are probably planning to take me back to the orphanage right now.
"Lily?" Phil asks, concerned. I can't stop myself from crying.
"Lily, what's wrong?" Dan tries to look me in the face, but I turn from him. The only problem is that gives Phil a way to tilt my head up so I'm looking at him.
Phil doesn't even say anything, just pulls me into a tight hug, and a few seconds later Dan joins in. I feel my tears start to fade away.
"Thank you." I whisper.
"We love you, Lily." They whisper back.
A/N: Hi! Sorry that I didn't show them shopping or anything, it's just I wanted to show you that Lily isn't always happy and cheerful. And I want to expand on that a little bit. Don't worry, it will only be a small part of this story :)
