Back to School

  I honestly hate school specifically high school it’s like every teenagers nightmare vampire or not; I felt a small ping of pity for the Cullen’s but that pity only lasted a short moment. I hate thinking about repeating high school but if it’s what I have to do to keep my existence hidden I’ll do it, even if it means dragging my entire family with me. The only one I’d actually have to drag would probably be EJ who was currently groaning in the backseat he hasn’t stopped since we pulled out of the driveway. At times I wonder if that boy is even 98 he acts like a 9-year-old half the time.

  “EJ it’s not going to be that bad, trust me I am your mother after all.” I said trying to lighten the mood; EJ shot me a glare as I snuck a quick peek at him through the review mirror, out of the corner of my eye I saw Renessmee turn and shoot daggers at her brother.

  “Seriously EJ cut the crap! It’s just high school! Your acting like it’s the end of the would or some shit! A few hours won’t hurt that pea sized brain of yours!” She hissed clearly annoyed by her brother, she turned back around and uncrossed her legs and recrossed them letting out a huff. I turned my head and gave her a thankful smile seeing her rant shut EJ up, she gave a quick wink before turning her head and staring out the passenger window. She was always the reasonable one which came from me and EJ got his father’s crabbiness; I snickered at that thought causing my family to give me send me curious glanced I just shook my head and laughed.

  As we pulled into the all too familiar parking lot all the human eyes turned to look at us and our shiny car, humans can be so nosy. I all but held back a groan when I saw how many were staring I hate attention always have and always will. I pulled my shiny Volvo in a spot closest to the schools entrance; Renessmee quickly hopped out and ran to calm Jacobs’s hand showing him off to everyone. EJ and I got out together and met the two love birds at the trunk of my Volvo. I suddenly felt a strange sensation run through me like something big was about to happen. Then a heard the humans thoughts.

They must be the new kids!

  I growled at the humans annoying thoughts and shut them all out and thanked god that I can shut my powers off when I wanted. I was pulled back to reality when I saw Renessmee dragging Jacob to the main office bouncing with excitement, she reminded me of Alice in so many ways the way EJ reminded me so much of Emmett. I started walking when I noticed we were going a little too fast for human speed. “Human speed Renessmee.” I hissed under my breath, Ness glanced at me with apologetic smile.

  “Sorry mom.” She slowed her pace to human, Jake sent me a grateful look before wrapping his arm around Renessmee’s shoulders and pulling her closed she immediately responded by wrapping her small arm around his waist. I sighed realizing that I will never have that because I’ll be spending to rest of eternity alone and without a mate.

  We quickly reached the entrance of the school, I stepped in first and as I did a familiar smell drifted up my noise I barely held back my growl as my mind registered the sickly sweet smell. The Cullen’s. Behind me I saw Jacob tense up and shoot me a quick glance. I could tell by his facial expression that he knew exactly who was in town; of course EJ and Renessmee were clueless of this one second exchange and they won’t be able to tell it’s the Cullen clan they smell. I shook off the feelings that were rising in me and marched confidently up to the desk.

  “Welcome to Forks High School! Is there something I can help you with?” The woman behind the desk asked, she was dressed a little too slutty to be a secretary. She had unnatural blonde wavy hair and deep blue eyes with a pound of make-up around them and her shirt was so low her boobs were practically falling out. It was disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed at a high school but something tells me that’s how she gets paid double and probably fucks the students too.
