Michael- Michael and I have been dating for 4 years. We're both 19. I don't really know if Michael wants to start the next part of life with me yet, but i hope it is sometime soon. I don't ever bring it up around him, just in case it's a touchy subject. But today, I felt like dropping a few hints.
I walk into the living room to see Michael on his Xbox I got him for Christmas. Around early August, we had finally moved in with each other. I go over and sit by him. I didn't think he'd notice but he picks me up and puts me in his lap. Even though he's so concentrated in his game, he still talks.
"What's up, baby girl?" he asks. How on earth can he tell that I have to ask something?
"You get a small crease between your eyebrows when you're thinking. What's on your mind?" He has now paused his game and is looking me in the eyes, making me blush slightly.
"Well, I-uh, was wondering," I start mumbling like a fool. He just chuckles. I take a deep breath.
"I was thinking about our future. I don't even know if you want to have a future with me. I was just wonderi-" you stop because he interrupts you.
"Of course I want to have a future with you, baby. What's brought all of this up?" he's starting to think there's something wrong, I can tell by how he talks.
"I just wanted to know if one day you wanted a little Clifford running around? Its not important though," I quickly add in the last part, thinking he will say no. Once again he chuckles.
"Yes. After we are married, I want to have little Us's." I smile. I like that answer.
Luke- Luke and I are engaged. In fact, we are getting married in three months. However, I think there might be a problem. I think I'm pregnant. I am not sure yet. But I don't want to say anything to Luke, I don't know if he wants kids or not. I am 19, he's twenty. It can't be that bad. I go into the kitchen to see he's on the phone with someone. I wait until he's done.
"Okay. Love you too mum."
"Yes, I'll ask her."
"Okay. Bye." he hangs up the call and turns to me with a smile.
"Hey sweetheart." he comes over to me and kisses me, with his hands now snaked around my waist.
"Hi Luke. What was your mom wanting?" I ask him. He smiles.
"I just had a question for her. Its all good," I just nod.
"I actually have a question for you," I say rather quietly.
"And what is that, babe?" he walks us into the living room and we sit on the couch.
"Well I was wondering if after we are married, you would maybe want to try for kids?" I ask, a bit hopeful he'll say yes. His face kind of dropped.
"Mum was right." he mumbles to himself. I give him a questioning look.
"About what?" He looks back up at me with tears in his eyes.
"You're pregnant. Aren't you?"
Calum- Calum and I have been dating for a while. 3 years, I think. I'm only 17, he's 18. We have both been best friends since diaper stage. I think Calum is starting to think about the next stages of our relationship because he's always bringing up "our future." Today however, he really dropped one on me.
"Hey (y/n)?" he asks me sweetly as we were cuddling while watching Breaking Bad together.
"Yes, Cal?" I was tracing little patterns on the back of his hand.
"Do you want kids in the future? You know, with me?" I turn and look at him.
"I don't know, Cal. I'm only seventeen. We should still enjoy our teen years while we can. Once we grow up a few more years, ask me then and I might change my mind. But I think for now, it's a no. I don't even think kids like me," I tell him, trying not to hurt his feelings. He just nods with a sad look on his face. I kiss his cheek and turn back around to watch the show.
Ashton- Ashton and I have been happily married for a year and a half now. We are both 21. Today, we were watching my 8 month old niece for a while. Ashton was on the floor playing with her and making her giggle. I quickly took a picture. They both had large grins on their faces. I want one of our own, someday. I thought to myself.
A few hours later, my sister came to pick up the baby. "Thank you again for watching her!" and then she left, with the baby still reaching for Ashton. He waved bye to the baby and She smiled at him. After she completely left, we were making dinner.
"Hey Ash?" he looks over at me.
"You are so perfect. The way you acted around the baby, always making her happy. She enjoyed being with you. I guess it's just a natural thing for you. I was just, uh, wondering if maybe you wanted to have kids soon?" We had both stopped what we were doing. He was looking straight at me. Before I started talking about the baby, he was smiling. Now his lips are in a thin, straight line.
"God, I don't know, (y/n). I don't know if we are ready for that babe. I mean, we are still young adults. I would still like to have fun adult time with you, without kids being around. You know? I just don't think I'm ready," he explains. I just nod.
"Yeah, you're right," I say, trying to not let disappointment show. I just went back to preparing dinner.
