I had reached my door, I opened it and stepped in. My mom in the living room, I walked up to her with a giant grin on my face. "Why do you look guilty?" She asked suspiciously. I held my smile while I said," I'm not guilty! This just my: please listen to me before you give me your answer, face." "What is it??" She asked rolling her eyes. I quickly said,"Kasey wants Lacy and I to go swimming with him. It will only be for a few hours because Lacy and (probably) Chase have combat training." I sucked in lots of air after that long wined statement I just gave her. "Fine." She said adding on," but you better not cause trouble and you need to have your sister back in time." "Ok!" I said as I ran into my room getting changed. "Lacy! If you want to go swimming get your swim suit on!" I called from my room. I heard a muffled ok in the background, so I was assuming it was her. Kasey had a younger brother, two older brothers, and an older sister. The family in order from youngest to oldest is; Chase, Kasey, Will, Michelle, Dillon, Christine, and Steve. (The last two are their parents) I hurried and threw my swim suit on, and grabbed a towel. I pulled on some short jean shorts on, and put my flip flops on. I walked out of my room and called for Lacy (my little sister). "Coming!" She shouted as she ran into the living room. "Where are your pants?" I asked looking at her with nothing on but a t-shirt and her swim suit. "Do I have to??" She moaned. "Yeah," I said impatiently. "I'll be at their house. Hurry." I said walking towards the door. I stepped into the hallway; the lights were surprisingly still on. As soon as I got there I only had to knock once, then the door widely opened. To my delight Kasey stepped out. My face that was already smiling grew brighter. "You ready??" I asked. "Yeah but Chase is being very slow." Kasey said frowning. "Don't worry about it, so is Lucy," I said laughing. We both laughed then Kasey asked," speaking of Lacy, where is she??" I looked back then answered with," she needed a little extra time to get ready so I left her." His eyes widened then he laughed. Following his laughter he asked," you left her?? Isn't she scared of this hallway??" "No. Only when the lights aren't on. Plus, if she's in here she can probably hear us talking." I answered hoping she would hurry. Lacy showed up as did Chase. We went through their house then climbed out the hatch. We could have gone out our hatch, but theirs is closer to the swimming hole. We walked for a few minutes until we came to and opening in the ground. Kasey reached in the hole and pulled out rope. They were harness type things. But only one. How it would work is that one person would get strapped in the rope harness, and the other people lower them in. Chase was first. Though he was five years younger than me, he was four inches taller than me, and heavier set. He was very muscular. We got him in and lowered him down. Next it was Lacy's turn; her being as tiny she was it was difficult to tighten the harness to accommodate her small size. It was my turn. Kasey put the harness on me, and tightened it to fit. Whenever he did this I would get butterflies from his touch. As I was being lowered, the first thing I saw was the murky water below. It was dark emerald green, and looked as though it was mixed with brown. Then I looked directly below me to see Lacy, and Chase getting ready to hop in. They were on the concrete beach made by both our dads. It was in the middle of everything but it was really great. As soon as I got onto the cement I pulled off my harness and called up," here you go!" Kasey pulled it back up. I looked around. Light from the opening in the ground (which was now our ceiling) was letting in warm sun beams warming the green water. Kasey came down slowly and carefully, and landed safely. Our siblings were already playing. He pulled off the harness and sat down next to me. "Will likes you, you know," Kasey said quietly and out of the blue. My eyes widened. "Really?? But he's really shy and I'm really outgoing??" I asked now confused. "Yes he does. You can't tell ANYONE or I will be dead! But he sorta told me..." Kasey said trailing off. In surprise I said," wow. I never would have guessed. Not to make things weird or anything but, he seems to be the kind of guy, that if he likes a girl he'd go after her. What's stopping him??" You may be shocked but as calm and laid back as one person be, he was very hilarious, nice, and passionate. Kasey went bright red then looked away. "What??" I asked now slightly confused. He looked down then said softly," because he knows I like you." I began to blush, feeling the blood rush to my face. With that I said," well then there's something you should know." I leaned in, and whispered in his ear something. His face lit up like a Christmas tree. His blushy cheeks were the ornaments, his beautiful smile was the lights, and his glowing green eyes were the tree topper. Speaking of glowing, his short dark brown hair looked luminous in the perfect lighting. Then he said," you're eyes look really blue today." I blushed then said,"thank you." I leaned in again and whispered," I'm gonna win!" I jumped up and pulled off my shorts, kicked off my flip flops, and dove in. As I dove in I heard him faintly say,"What?? What's going on??" But it was to late; I was off! The cool murky water cooled my hot face, and felt good on my warm body. My arms moved like torpedoes, my legs swiftly kicking behind me. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. I slammed into the wall hard as I could! I grabbed the side now panting. I looked over to see Kasey slowly come in. "That wasn't fair," he said panting harder than me. "Fair enough." I said sticking out my tongue. He rolled his eyes, then we both laughed. He leaned in to kiss me... I leaned in, then pulled away. As did he. "I'm sorry." I whispered now feeling very self conscious. "It's ok, our siblings are here anyway." He responded trying to fake a smile. I felt absolutely horrible. My mind was running a million times a minute then I ended up having word vomit come out," Kasey I'm really sorry. I'm just not ready. I mean honestly I really wanted to but I couldn't. I got scared I guess. I feel really stupid and I hope you're not mad. And if you are it's totally understandable. I probably would be too." Knowing what I had just done I covered my mouth now feeling extraordinarily embarrassed. I looked down with my hand still covering my mouth. "What kind of monster would get mad at a person because someone wasn't ready to kiss them?? I don't think I was ready either. It was just an impulse, we're good." Kasey reassured me with a smile. I smiled back and we began to play in the water while talking.
