I woke up to Spencer tracing lazy circles on my hip and I smiled to myself. I rolled over and Spencer gave me a tired smile. I put my head on his chest and he stroked my hair. "Do you have work today?" I asked. "If the BAU calls then yeah. I hope they don't. I could spend all day like this." He said in his low morning voice. I sighed "Me too. I can't stand being away from you. Sometimes you're gone for weeks. I get so lonely." I closed my eyes. "I know. But I can't leave the BAU. They need me." He kissed my forehead. "Yeah. I guess they do." I twirled his hair around in my fingers. "I love you Skye." Spencer whispered to me. "I love you too." I said as I fell back asleep.
When I woke up again, Spencer was out of bed. I got up and slipped on one of Spencer's t-shirts. I walked out of the room and saw Spencer making breakfast in the kitchen wearing only sweatpants. I leaned on the doorway and he noticed me. "Good morning!" He said cheerfully. "Good morning." I said, rubbing my eyes. "You hungry?" He looked away from the eggs. "Yeah. Are you okay? I mean, what happened with the case.." I walked to him and hugged him from behind. "Yeah. But I can't help but think those people who died were because of me." He turned around in my arms. "I'm sure it wasn't, and the whole team probably feels the same way." I said. "You're probably right..."
After we ate, Spencer and I went back in bed and turned on the tv. I laid on his chest and he held me close as he flipped through the endless channels. "Nothing. There's never anything good on." He sounded frustrated. "Well there's always Netflix." I looked up at him. "True." He said with a smile. He turned Netflix on and searched through shows and movies. "How about that one?" I asked and pointed at a show called Arrow. He clicked on it. "Looks interesting. You want to watch it?" He looked at me. "Only if you do." I giggled. Spencer started the first episode and it showed a man running through the forest. He had a beard and carried a bow and arrows. He shot a fiery arrow toward a large pile of wood and it caught fire. A boat showed up on what looked like an island and the man boarded it. Then the intro showed. The word Arrow with an arrowhead behind it. "Interesting." Spencer mumbled. I looked back up and Spencer and he was almost completely absorbed in the show. Instead of watching it, I watched him as he looked at the screen. A single piece of hair fell in his face but he didn't seem to care. His eyes looked focused and he was breathing at a slow
pace. I fell asleep to the soft beating of his heart.
I opened my eyes and Spencer had fallen asleep as well. The show was still on so I picked up the remote and shut the tv off. I loved the way he looked when he slept. He always seemed so peaceful and adorable. I carefully pushed the piece of hair out of his face and he shifted but didn't wake up. I held his hair in my hand and twisted it around. Spencer's eyes fluttered open and he groaned. "Sorry Spence. Didn't mean to wake you up." I let go of his hair. "I was awake already. Just sleepy." He smiled. I stretched up to kiss him but his phone rang and I stuck out my lower lip in a pout. He picked up the phone off the bedside table and answered it. "Hello?" He asked sounding sleepy. "Yeah. Okay. I'm on my way." He sounded pissed after he hung up "Shit." He mumbled. "What happened?" I asked, moving off of him. "There was a murder in Oregon and they want me at the office in 30 minutes." He sat up and stretched. "I don't want you to leave me again. I miss you already." I complained as I sat up next to him. "I know. But Hotchner said they found more than one of the same MO." He groaned as he got out of bed. He pulled a purple button up shirt and khakis out of his drawer. I placed my feet on the floor next to the bed and faced Spencer. He turned around while buttoning his pants. I stood up and walked over to the drawers. I pulled his belt out of the dresser while he tucked in his shirt. I wrapped my arms around him and put on his belt. He pulled me close and kissed me. His tie hung loose and untied around his neck and I pulled him closer with it. "Skye I have to go.." He said as he placed his forehead on mine. "I wish you didn't have to." I said. I pulled away and tied his tie. Spencer smiled and hugged me before leaving the room to get his shoes. I went into the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth and Spencer came in after he put his shoes on. He had his leather bag across his chest. He stood behind me and rested his chin on my head while I brushed my teeth. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my head. "I have to go Skye. I love you." He said. "Please be careful out there. I'd like to keep you in one piece." He laughed. "I will. I promise."
After Spencer left, I got a call from my boss saying he needed me back. I had taken a few days off from work because I knew Spencer was coming home. I work at a veterinarian office a few miles away from our apartment. I work in shots and surgery, and normally putting animals down and fixing house pets. I got dressed and pulled my long brown hair in a ponytail. I grabbed my keys and purse and left the house after locking the door.
