When Dean left, Mrs. Novak turned to Cas.
"Castiel Novak- HOW could you?!"
Cas backed away slowly. "What?"
Mrs. Novak shook her head. "You- You're a homosexual!"
Cas flushed. "I- Well-!"
Mrs. Novak shook her head. "I didn't want to punish you in front of Dean, but please explain!"
Cas wiped his nose. "I can't help it!"
Mrs. Novak thought for a second. "I suppose."
Cas raised his eyebrows. "What?"
He lowered his guard.
"Castiel, I won't punish you. I'm sorry."
Cas rubbed his eyes. "Thanks, Mom."
"It's okay, Cassie." She hugged him.
Cas hugged her back. They were family, and family was important.
