A Christmas Blessing [ COMPLETED]

Sunday morning finally arrived and Shawn was dressed in a black pair of slacks with a crisp, white dress shirt. He decided on a classic black tie, and his Rolex watch to complete his outfit. Peyton knowing how to dress well for herself, came from her bedroom wearing a teal and ivory striped dress with her signature Afro puffs. The two made their way to Jersey to visit Beyoncé's church.

As Shawn drove down the freeway, his mind wondered off on Beyoncé. He has never encountered a woman in his life that made it a priority to go to church, and liked the thought of going every week with Beyoncé. No, they're not in a relationship but he would like to think of what's going on as a budding friendship. Just by the time spent working and not, his attraction for her deepened. But it's just a professional relationship for right now. After all, she's his personal shopper.

Arriving at the church without the hassle of traffic, Shawn and Peyton made their way up the church steps ,and were greeted with Beyoncé and three others. "Hey Shawn and Peyton. This is my brother Anthony, sister-in-law Nicole and their daughter Mayah." Beyoncé said introducing everyone. After hugs and handshakes they all went inside, and sat on the right side of the church aisle. "Thanks again for inviting us Beyoncé. I really glad Peyton can experience church." Shawn said once the choir and musicians began to get into the choir stand and sing. "Awww no problem. I love coming to church and thought you'd like it too." She said. She looked so radiant in Shawn's eyes.

After the choir sang a few songs it was time for church announcements and welcoming any visitors. "Good morning church. Isn't it a blessing to be in the house of the Lord this Sunday?" A woman spoke into the mic. Amen's were echoed as she continued. "If you'd follow me in your program the announcements are as follows...." She read with so much enthusiasm and once she finished it was now time to announce the visitors. "I've greeted our visitors as they walked in, and when I call your name please stand & remain standing as I give you a proper welcome."

She called a few people and as they stood the congregation turned their heads to look. "And now Shawn Carter and his daughter Peyton. They're visiting from New York City with Sister Beyoncé." The woman said as Shawn and Peyton stood up and smiled. All eyes were on them at that moment, and after she finished every guest sat back down and the service continued.

"Shawn would Peyton like to go to children church downstairs? Mayah already went down there if you'd like her to." Beyoncé spoke closely into his ears above a whisper. "I'm okay with it. It's up to Peyton." He responded. With Peyton being on the left of Shawn, and Beyoncé being on his right, she had to lean into his body to ask Peyton. She placed her hand on his lap as she bent close to ask Peyton. "Yeah I wanna go BB. Can you take me?" She asked. "Sure baby. We'll go after offering."

Wednesday Morning

Beyoncé hit the button on the elevator with two full bags of the lasts gifts Shawn would pass to his co-workers. So far everyone who's received gifts loved how personable and heartfelt they were. Shawn's reaction to theirs touched Beyoncé's heart, and loved seeing people's faces of gratitude. As she worked with Shawn, feelings started to grow for him, but Beyoncé didn't know if he felt the same.

"Good morning Beyoncé. How are you?" Shawn asked giving her a big hug and helping her with the gifts. "I'm good thanks for asking. This is the last bunch of gifts for you, and I think they'll love it!" Beyoncé said smiling. Shawn peeked into the bags and saw the beautifully wrapped presents. "I'm sure they will. My colleagues who already have gifts love 'em and I truly thank you for all you've done. You really stepped in and took the pressure off me." Shawn said. "It's my job and I'm just glad I could help."

They talked and passed along gifts throughout the morning, and before lunchtime, the last gift was for Kelly. She knocked on the door before she entered. "Hey Shawn and Beyoncé. Girl I love your outfit." She said as she gave Beyoncé a hug and then one to Shawn. "Thank you Kelly. Here's your gift." Beyoncé gave it to her. "Awww thanks. I'm going to wait on Christmas Day to open it & I also came to invite you to our staff holiday party." Kelly said. "Oh yeah I totally forgot about that Kels." Shawn said. "Of course you would because you never come! Anyways are you going to make it Beyoncé? It's on Friday." Kelly asked.

"Sure I'd love to."

I probably have 1 or 2 more chapters and it'll be finished. Obviously this was meant to be done before Christmas, but life happened and I'm kinda back into the groove of things. I appreciate the interest y'all have for my stories!
