Chapter 2- Times Have Passed
*Ten years later*
I rang my best friend Faith up. We have been friends for as long as I can remember, 'best friends forever' is a fitting term. We have changed little but loads. That probably makes about 0.4% sense to you, sorry. We have physically changed, taller, slimmer (obviously), and we have matured. No more teenage crushes anymore, romances and love are the real deal now!
"Hey Faith!" I chirped down the phone. Five weeks ago, Faith spilt up with Max. She should be over him, he was a dick, but no! She's still moping about!
"Hi." She replied. I could tell her mood had not improved since yesterday when I last spoke to her.
"So, what you up to today then?" I asked, ignoring her mood.
"Er, not much."
"Well then, that's sorted! I'll cook us a nice lunch!"
"Kenzi-"
"No, no 'buts' or excuses, I'll pick you up at eleven!"
Then I hung up. I knew Faith hadn't been eating properly since the split, which is so bad! I haven't had a boyfriend for four months mow, I'm enjoying being single!
I picked Faith up and she wasn't looking her best. She used to be glowing, happy, healthy looking, but now he just pale and drowsy looking. I need to sort my best friend out!
I smile as I see her arrive at the driveway. I go outside and meet her as she's getting out of her car.
"Hey!" I say cheerfully.
"Hi" Faith replies quietly whilst forcing a small smile.
"Come on, lets go!" I say dragging her to my car.
"Go where? I thought we were having lunch?!" Faith says confused.
"We are, at our favourite place!" I reply happily, I LOVE surprising people! Without giving her chance to object, I yank Faith into the car.
After half an hour we arrive. I link arms with my best friend and we enter the Chinese buffet. I have a huge grin on my face, however Faith doesn't, she just looks miserable.
"Table for two" I ask the lady. We sit down when all of a sudden Faith lays her head in her hands and bursts out crying! 'What the hell!' I thought!
"Omg what's the mater Faith?" I asked worried. She just stutters trying to gulp back the lump in her throat.
"It's-it's-well Max always used to take me here every fortnight!" She stutters out. Oh my gosh I feel so bad! I never even thought about that! "Right, that it then, we'll go somewhere else,we don't want reminders of him anywhere!" I state. I grab my best friend by the arm and we walk out. Her tears have left mascara runs down her cheeks but she manages to wipe them away. We walk along the street searching for somewhere to eat, when we get to Nandos. Neither of us have been here before so we decide to go in. That's when I remembered..."OH MY GOD FAITH DO YOU REMEMBER?" I ask her excitedly.
"What?" She asks looking worried.
"This is Niall's favourite food place!" I say happily. A small smile creeps onto her face and her eyes half light up. Awh, this brings back so many childhood memories of loving One Direction! We haven't spoken about them in a while, but we burst into conversation. It must have definitely taken Faith's mind off of Max because she ate all the food on her plate without even thinking about it! She seemed to quite enjoy her first time at Nandos, so I decided we should make a habit of coming here, put the past in the past (the Chinese buffet with all it's good and bad-Max-memories) behind. I thought my meal was 'standard', but I really enjoyed it because it was the happiest I've seen Faith in months.
