How We Became

I was walking down the hallway with my best friend Yasmeen. We were talking about how stupid the boys were in our class. We passed by Jake and Stephan, two annoying boys that were in our gym class. They smiled at us, I rolled my eyes while Yasmeen smiled at them, Stephan in particular, and turned red. "You still like that loser don't you," I said with a sigh.
" What?!!!" She asked incredulously. " At least I have a heart, unlike some people." She was referring to me. I knew that.
That's when the school began to shake. Everyone began screaming and yelling that it's a earthquake, while the principle began shouting over the loudspeaker telling everyone to calm down. But it only got worse. There was a loud whirring sound, like someone had turned on a machine. Then there was a loud explosion and the side of the wall blew up causing everyone to fall and cover our faces. My heart began to pound. My backpack was like a hippo sitting on me, I threw the backpack off. I sat up to see only Yasmeen, Jake, Stephan and me left, everyone else has ran away. We were all sitting up. I could tell all of us were as scared as hell. I looked up to see a big, huge, fat man holding a big, huge, long gun with the back attached to a wire that was powered by some kind of machine in the back. I stood up, Yasmeen and the boys did the same. The man looked at us and smiled. " Finally," his voice was deep and full of hunger. " A good four kids to do some testing."
He hauled the gun up. We all began to step back, blue light began to come from the gun. I grabbed Yasmeen's wrist and I began to run. The boys did the same.
"Not so fast!" The man yelled.
I heard the gun begin to power to its shooting point. And the man fired. A huge electric ball shot out, then a wall of lighting came out. I managed to get out of range from the wall of lightning but my hand dragging Yasmeen and the boys were all struck. Yasmeen, Stephan and Jake all were knocked out , my hand had blue lighting streaks all over it, it hurt so badly. I looked at my unconscious classmates. There were blue lightning streaks like the one all over my hand, just all over their bodies. I looked up at the fat man, he looked surprised that I was even sitting up.
"That should have sent you to sleep, missy!!!! " I could tell he was angry by his eyes. "I'll just give you another shot!" My heart was pounding even harder.
I thought quickly I could fight him one on one using my skills in combat. Or I could slow him down until some kind of miraculous help comes on its way. I balanced the two choices. If I fight him one on one m, I have a bigger chance of losing, if I slow him down I still might live. I decided to slow him down.
"Why do u need us?" I asked before he could turn it on.
"I think I would tell you?" He said bending over to something to the machine. Maybe it was malfunctioning, I couldn't get my hopes to high.
" Well I am going to die aren't I?"
"Actually, missy. You aren't going to die." I stared at him. "You see the people that is paying me to do this is going to do some tests on you guys."
"Tests?"
"Didn't give me all the details, and even if I knew I wouldn't tell you." He hauled the gun up again. "Maybe when you're there they'll tell you." Blue light began to come. Another electric ball came out, but I managed to dodge it. Wait, where was that lightning wall thing? The fat man seemed suprised too.
"Oh c'mon! Not enough energy! You've got to be kidding me!" The man said.
A speck of relief came onto me. But then the man began to shoot electric balls at me. I was glad I took gymnastics and Mai tai. I dodged and flipped, keeping away from all the electric things. Yasmeen began to sit up.
"I don't feel so good," she said groaning." I feel really warm in the inside. Is that normal?" Then she finally noticed the man and the gun. "Was he the one that shot us?"
"Uh, yes, are you all right?" I asked, I was so into the conversation that a electric ball almost hit me. "And can you help me over here? I seem to have made an enemy."
"Are you serious? I don't even know how to fight!" She cried. My hand began to throb even more. Yasmeen began to turn blue, the fire blue. "Is it just me or is it getting really hot here?" Her body began be engulfed flames. It was so hot that everything near her began to melt. I stared at her and only to get hit by a stupid electric ball. I fell to the ground. I felt like I was on fire. My hand began to tingle. Stephan and Jake were standing up. Stephan was turning into ice and Jake was- vibrating? Were they some super powered people. Was it because of the lightning wall? Why didn't I have powers? My hand didn't throb anymore, instead I felt a huge power contained inside my hand. Was this my power? I looked up to see my accaintences using their powers- or at least trying to. I had a feeling that they thought they were doing the best thing on earth to defeat a big fat man, but what I saw was just Stephan splashing water that only made the man madder, Yasmeen trying to learn know to produce a fireball which was very unhelpful and Jake was just running in super speed around the man as if trying to make him dizzy. At least they managed to make the man drop his gun. I stared at my hand. Let's see what my hand could do. I put my hands together causing my hand give power to my other hand. I stood up and pushed my hand forward as if to push something away. It did push the fat man away, but it also drained most of my energy. Well I won't be doing that again. I stood up, thankfully I had saved some of my energy to fight. The fat man began to get up. I jogged over.
"Guys get out of the way!" I yelled. They all swerved to the side as I jumped up, kicked the man in the face and landed behind him. It put him in a daze but he soon snapped out of it. He turned quickly, way more quickly then a man his size could have. He tried smashing me with his fist, but I jumped back. Yasmeen finally figured out how to summon a fireball. She threw it at the man. It just a hit the man and distinguish . The man got even more irritated, thanks Yasmeen. He began picking up broken bricked from the broken wall and throwing at us. Jake and me began dodging it while Yasmeen and Stephan smashed it with their powers. Bad idea, do they not know how to dodge? If they get hit then it's over. Fortunately, he soon ran out of bricks. So he decided to run at us and start smashing us.
"They didn't say it would be like this! They better pay me double!" He yelled angrily.
He began smashing us unsuccessfully.
"HALT!" Someone yelled. The man turned around, I stepped sideways to see them. There was a group of people, half of them were in red and the other half in gold. Some were flying and some were glowing. The person who said "halt" was a girl who was about 17. She was wearing a golden suit and cape, she was floating around and her hand was up.
"Who are you?" The man asked, he put some anger in "you".
"We are the Scarlett Red and the Bright Golden. I am Golden Star, you have attacked innocent people, Lightning Man." Golden Star said. "You will go to prison. But first you will tell us who is paying you, a Stinger like you wouldn't think of something like that."
"Oh please!" Lightning Man yelled with a laugh. "You kids have to tie someone up when you ask them anything!" Golden Star putt her hand out, it began to flow with golden light. A star appeared and then planted itself on Lightning Man's chest and then turned to golden ropes. He thrashed and struggled but it he was just wasting his time. The ropes didn't budge one bit.
Then Golden Star bent forward and said in his face. "Now will you tell us who you are working for? "
Lightning Man began to laugh, he laughed and laughed. "Even if I tell you it would be absolutely no use. You know who sent me. It's the same people who made your powers." The people in gold and red began looked at one another as if they knew. He began to glow. Golden Star tried throwing another star at him but the he popped and vanished. Golden Star cursed under her breath. Then she looked at us. "On sure you guys had a long day," she said."Well your school will not have any classes after today. You should come with us." My classmates and I stared at her blankly.
"Is that an order?" Jake asked.
"We're just going to visit your new home." We looked at each other.
"What do you mean our new home? We already have a home," Stephan said.
"Your powers will soon get out of control if you don't get the proper training. They will also attract attention, and some may not be nice at all," she said. As if that could convinced us.
"What about parents?" Jake asked.
"They will be told that you went to Sweden for educational purposes," she said. We all stared at her like she had a hundred heads.
"So you're basically lying to out parents," Yasmeen concluded.
"If you do that I'm out!" Stephan said. "Same!" Jake called.
"Me too!" Yasmeen put in.
Golden Star looked around, I could tell by her eyes that she was annoyed. Then She turned to me.
"What about you?" She asked." You haven't said a word."
"I live with Yasmeen, if she doesn't want to go, then I won't go."
That's when Golden Star lost her sweat. "All of you have made a bad choice!" She hissed." We have seen what you did! All of you are good at combat-"
"Thanks!" Jake said brightly.
"Be quiet!" Golden Star snapped. "You are putting your gifts to waste!"
"No we're not," I snapped. I was seriously getting pissed of with her.
"What?" Everyone said, even my classmates.
"That's right, me and my friend, and the boys are going to make a team," I said, I don't know what was coming out of my mouth but I kept on rambling on. "And we're gonna do it without you."
"You can't be serious!" A boy in red cried.
"Yes we are," Yasmeen answered.
"Either you help us-" Stephan began.
"Or stay away," Jake finished. The people stared at us like we were crazy(which I think they're right).
"You're kidding, right?" Golden Star said with a laugh. But she soon stopped because of our serious faces. "You're not, okay. What are you going to name yourselves?"
We began to huddle up and whisper some suggestions. "You can call us Navy Blue," Stephan said.
"We will tell your parents that you will be at different school, and can visit once in a while," Golden Star said.
"Wait, so I have to live with these idiots?" I asked pointing to the boys.
"You will be living in the same building," Golden Star answered. And before anymore questions were asked, she nodded to a boy in red." To the Extra Mansion please." The boy nodded.
"Wait where is that" Jake began."Because if we're going to walk there then- whoa." The boy in red had made a portal with a red ring around it.
"Step through," Golden Star said smiling. Jake took his time, he walked slowly toward the portal and stared at it for a while.
"Is this safe?" He asked." Will I lose a limb or something because-" I pushed him in and a went through it screaming. I smiled and stifled back a laugh, but I could hear everyone else laughing too. I stepped through it to see Jake brushing off his pants with his hands, and a huge mansion behind it, my eyes widened. I turned around to see Stephan and Yasmeen looking up at the mansion too with wide eyes. And the other superheroes came through.
"This is you're new home, the Navy Blue Mansion," Golden Star announced.
We walked in I guessed that this was the living room. There was four couches and two arm chairs. And big flat screen tv. There was a video came set and a small table in the middle.
"The top two floors will be the bedrooms. One will be the girl's floor and the other would be the boy's. You may share a room if you want or keep your own room. The basement is the weapon making and where you train by yourself, there is also a computer room down there. There is a gym that can turn into any exercise mode and this is where we teach you how to fight and where we train you. There is a backyard where you can spend leisure time and play sports with each other," Golden Star explained. "There is a stairwell and an elevator. If you would like any additional things than you may come and tell us."
"What about our things?" Stephan asked.
"He will let you get them," Golden Star answered nodding to the same man in red. Me and Yasmeen went together since we lived together. Yasmeen's parents were at work and her little brother was still at school. We hauled suitcases up and began packing. Then we portaled back to the mansion. Then the guy in red made another portal to our room. We decided to share a room and the guy in red left us to unpack. When we were finished we went down to eat lunch, I hadn't realized how hungry I was, then we went back into our new room, I played on my IPod for a while. Then, I heard a knock on my door. I looked at Yasmeen. "Come in," she called. Golden Star opened the door.
"Ready for your first training session?" Golden Star asked.
