Beyond the Mirrors

Chapter 3

About 5 days of being on the road and many nights sleeping in the car we finally pull up on our neighborhood. I woke up when we were alomst there. "mom", I called,"are we there yet". She huffed and then said," yea, we have like 5 more minutes until we're there. "Ok" I yawned. I looked out the window as we started geting closer and closer to home. I could see little children playing on swing sets and drawning on the concrete. We then pulled up to this beautiful house. It was a tan color with light and dark rocks along the front of the house. It was an 2-story house, it also had 2 garage doors. Enough to hold 3 cars. "How to you like it", she smiled. I love it, it's beautiful I . "Just wait until you get inside", she clapped her hands. I got out of the car to see that dad was already here. I walked up the steps and opened the door. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside. The living room floors was rugged. I looked around more and found a fire place. I walked into the kitchen and saw beautiful cabinets . They were a dark, wooden, brown color which matched the caramel colored wall. I went back into the living room to find mom and dad talking lowly. They stopped once they saw me . "How do you like the house", my dad asked. "I love it", I replied slowly. Before I could ask what were they talking about my mom smiled ,"have you seen your room yet". "No but im about to go and check it out", i jumped happily. I ran upstairs which were also rugged ,with a light grey color . The house had three rooms and 4 bathrooms. I walked through each room to find that out. One room had a caramel colored wall, like the kitchen but much lighter. When i saw my mom and dad's suitcases on the bed i noticed it was their room. The room they picked was the master bedroom. It had a tub and shower seperate, and walk in closet. They had a king size bed with sheets the same color as the wall. They also had a flat screen tv on the wall. Overall it was a nice room. I walked into another room that was was a dark white colored room. The last room i walked into amazed me. It was a medium grey colored wall with white leaves around the sides of the wall. It was beautiful. There was a queen sized bed with light blue sheets and a dark blue blanket. I noticed they even put a little dest by my bed. There had a small walk in closet. The bathroom only had a walk in shower tho so it wasn't that bad. When i walked out of the bathrrom i noticed that it had another leaf design on the side of the wall. This room was way better than my old room. I was in love. I ran back down stairs and started squealling."Mom,dad" i squealled jumping up and down. "Im guessing you liked your room", my dad chuckled. Like no that's an understatement I love it. I hugged them and went to get my bags by the front door. Dad ended up helping me take some of the suitcases to my room. As we were walking upstairs my dad turned to me and started eyeing me hard. "Dad are you ok", i asked looking at him. "Yeah I , er just nothing",he coughed ,as he turned his head back, continuing up the stairs. I decided not to say anything and just continuted walking with him. "Get all of your stuff unpacked we have a surprise for you", he smile. Ok I said slowly wondering what it was He then left the room all odd like.I started to unpack my clothes putting my some of my clothes in the dressers and the rest in the closet along with my shoes. I put my notebook and everything in my nightstand. It took about an hour or two to get everything fully done since I really didnt take much things from the old house. I walked downstairs and saw my dad putting his hang on mom's butt and kissing her. "Ew, dad , come on , can't you guys get a room", i screamed. My mom started blushing and my dad just chuckled. "Are you ready for your suprise", he asked. "Yes and No", I told him." Come outside", he motioned me to him. When we got outside I was in shock to see a 2015 nissan altima. "Oh my gosh",I squealled, "you bought me a car, you really didnt have to". "Well just think of it as something for you to get to and from school and plus you turning 18 in a few days", my mom said smiling with her arms wrapped around dad. "Thank you so much", I shouted hugging them. "I love y'all very much", I smiled. "We love you too now go and do something", my mom pushed me looking at my dad. 'We have to finish unpacking, Dior", my mom added "Do we have too", he huffed. "Yes we do", she smiled playfully hitting him. I just chuckled at them turning to walk to my room. When i went back to my room I noticed a box and a new phone on the laptop desk.  When I opened the box it was a new laptop since I to leave my old one at my old house. Beside the box was a note saying, Only use it for school, love mom and dad . I balled up the note looked at my new phone which was a galaxy s6 edge. They had already programed it so I didnt have to do anything to it. I was feeling tired from all the moving and the unpacking so I cut off the light and got into the cold bed. I love it when my bed is cold. I really dont know why, I just love the feeling. After awhile I dozed off.
