Beyond the Mirrors

Chapter 5

This is Lynix mom Kapri.

"GET UP!", my mom screamed, "IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL"! "Hmm, is that so, well your too late, I started school like 13 years ago", I said grumply. "Stop being a smartass and get up.", she chuckled. I got up and went into the bathroom. I looked on the shelf and saw some toothpaste and a new toothbrush. I grabbed the toothbrush, squeezed some toothpaste on it, and started brushing my teeth. When I was done, I washed my face and went back into my room. I opened the closet, to look for some clothes. I ended up putting on a white blouse, ripped skinny jeans, and a thick grey cardigan. I decided to wear my new pair of black boots that Elexie gave me. I push my hair back into a ponytail, grabbed my bookbag, my phone, and walked out of my room. I went to the kitchen and said good morning to my parents. I kissed them on the cheek and walked out the door. I typed in the school name, in the GPS, on my phone. It was about 10 miles from where I lived, so it would take 20 to 40 minutes to get there. I put my phone sideways on the dashboard and followed the directions. It took me around 30 minutes to get to school. I pulled into the school and drove around looking for a parking space. I finally found one, at the front of the school, and got out of the car. I then walked into the building. When I got in I bumped into someone. I fell and someone grabbed my hand to help me up. "Im sorry for bumping into you", I apologized when I got up. "No i'm sorry", a girl voice said. When I got up I saw that I had bumped into a girl of course. She had red hair, blue eyes, she was tall unlike myself, and had a slim body,. She was also really pretty. She got up and smiled, "Hey my name is Ember Melrose". "Lynix", I responded. "Oh pretty name, I like how unique it is", she said while brushing herself off. "Your the new girl right",she asked. "Yeah, can you show me where the main office is?" I asked. "Yeah ill show you, walk with me", she smiled. While walking with her I learned she was 18 and she was also a senior. She was also smart, (she took mostly A.P. classes), and she didn't take crap. She had a smart mouth and didn't let anyone run over her. She soon stopped and turned around saying, "we're here". "Thank you" ,I told her. "I'll see you later", she waved. "Bye and thanks again", I waved back. I went into the main office and saw a woman behind a desk. "Excuse me", I said politely, "I'm a new student and I need to get my schedule. "Your Lynix Immuel, am I correct?", she asked. "Yes ma'am", I replied. "Well here's your schedule dear", she handed me my schedule. "Thank you", I turned around leaving. My first period was A.P. English, second was A.P. Calculus, third A.P. US. History, fouth Lunch, fifth free, sixth Spanish for honors, seventh A.P.Biology, eighth Gym. My first period was A.P. English so I went to look for it. It look me 5 minutes until I finally found it. I stood by the door making sure I was at the right place. I took a big breath and opened the door. Everyone's head shot up at me as I walked in. "Hey Lynix, My name is Mr. Brex. Would you like to tell the class about yourself", he asked. Well erm, my name is lynix Immuel, I uh just moved here Saturaday, and I speak French. "Thank you, now you may sit by Treyland", he pointed to the empty desk. I looked up and saw the guy from walmart. I walked to my desk and sat down. "You didn't tell me you we're going to this school", Treyland whispered behind me. "That's because you didn't ask", I whispered back. Mr. Brex went on to talking about Shakespeare and how for homework we were going to have to write an essay discussing Shakespeare's use of literary and rhetorical devices to reveal each character's state of mind. "Ughhhh", everyone started groaning. Seriously the first day i'm here and I already have a essay to do. "I will give you all a week to finish your essay", he contuined. After awhile class was over and my 2nd and 3rd period rushed by and Treyland ended up being in those classes with me. When lunch came I was so happy. I was hungry and I was sorta ready to leave this school. I went to find my locker to drop off my books when I saw Ember. "Hey, your eatting lunch with me ok", she grabbed me. "Yeah", I smiled. I picked a locker right next to hers, threw my books in there. and started walking with her. When we got into the cafeteria, I paid for my food which was a rib sandwhich, coca cola, applesauce, and a pizza slice. I sat beside Ember since she was the only person I knew so far. When I got to the table I noticed Treyland sitting at the table. "Hey sexy", Ember waved. "Hey beautiful", Treyland waved back. "Wait you know her", he said looking up at me. "Yeah I just meet her today", Ember responded . "Wait how do you know him", she asked talking to me. "I meet him at walmart, when I was trying to find out where the school supplies were", I told her sitting down. "Ok then",she smiled. "So where are you from?", she asked. Oh, er, uh, um. "I have to go", I told them rushing trying to get up. "Are you ok? Did I say something?" she asked worried. "No I just really have to go", I told her running out of the cafeteria leaving my food. 5th-7th went by fast and Ember and Treyland ended up taking all of those periods with me. What are the odds and they kept asking me was I ok and what happened. I couldn't tell her the actual reason so I just made up something. 8th period finally came and I went to Gym. It wasn't hard to find because it was a building by itself. When I walked into the gym everyone started looked at me. Treyland and Ember saw me and walked towards me. "Are you ok", Treyland asked me. "Yea why wouldn't I be", I chuckled nervously. "Well you did run out of the cafeteria like a crazy person but that's none of my business ", he responded. "Treyland",Ember gasped hitting him. "Ouch", he yelled. We had to walk today so we had to go to the bathroom to change. "I dont have any clothes", I told Ember. "It's ok I always bring extras", she smiled handing me some clothes. "Thanks", I yelled. I went into a stall making sure I didn't look into mirrors. When I was done changing I balled my clothes into my bag and walked out of the bathroom. I stood beside the door so I could wait on Ember. When she came out I noticed she had put her hair up in a bun. We started walking, when someone whispered my name. "Lynix", someone whispered softly. I stopped walking and turned around expecting to see someone but no one was there. "Lynix", the voice said again. I turned back around and saw nothing. "Ember did you hear that", I turned looking at her. "Hear what", she looked, concerned. "Nothing never mind", I chuckled looking one more time behind me. We contuined walking until we got outside. Treyland was waiting by the door, when we walked up to him. "You girls ready", he looked at us. "Yeah", we said at the same time. We looked at each other and burst out laughing. We started walking and Treyland was telling me how he started liking Ember in 7th grade, but didn't have the balls to ask her out until the 10th grade. They've been together for 3 years so far. We kept talking for about 35 minutes and the bell rung for us to go."Can you give me a ride home Treyland has practice today", Ember asked while running to the buliding. "Yeah, no problem", I said running also. When we got into the building we grabbed our bags and I waited for her to finish kissing Treyland. "Bye TreyBear", she said kissing him. "I don't remember agreeing to you calling me that", he frowned. "Funny cause I don't rmember asking you to agree, love you TreyBear", She smiled kissing him one more time before turning around. "Love you too", he murmmered clearly mad at her for calling him Treybear. "I'm pretty sure he doesn't like the name TreyBear", I told her. He'll be ok, "I'll tell you later why I call him that" She said grabbing her bag and walking out the door with me.
