Chapter 2

I woke up in a bed that was certainly not mine. For one it was excessively hard, and too small for that matter. I sat up and looked around to get my new bearings. It was a very small, dinky room, without any windows. I did a double take when I saw three other girls looking at me. They were sitting beside each other on a bed opposite mine.

“I am Lillian,” the first girl said. She was very pretty. She had blond hair that looked like it was curled, but the curls were falling out. She wore a blue strapless, bubble dress. “This is Bethany, my younger sister,” she pointed to the girl in the middle that wore a red strapless bubble dress the same style as Lillian. I looked to the last girl and noticed that she wore a same style dress but it was yellow. “And this is Cordiellia.” Lillian said pointing to the last girl, in the yellow dress.

“Hi, I’m Evelyn.” I replied somewhat unsure why they were all wearing the same style dress.

“Now I know that you have a lot of questions but we don’t have that much time. I am going to explain what this place is and why you were taken but you can not interrupt at all because there isn’t time, ok?” Lillian said.

“Um ya I guess ok.” I replied kind of put off by her abruptness.

“Ok good. Let’s get started.” Lillian said. “First thing first, the people that kidnapped you are not human, they are vampires. You said you wouldn’t interrupt,” she snapped as I was about to say that vampires don’t exist. “Anyway yes they are vampires but they kidnapped you for a reason. Well actually two reasons. I only know about the second reason. If you don’t pass there test, don’t ask I have no idea what kind of test, then you are sold as a blood slave.” Lillian finished with such sincerity in her voice that I questioned that maybe vampires really do exist.

The next thing I knew was that the door was being slammed open by the bodybuilder. I noticed two things in that moment that I looked at him: 1.I saw little fangs protruding over his bottom lip and it was then that I realized that Lillian’s story was right, and 2.I knew that I was going to hate this man .

He sneered down at me and said, “Well hello ladies, I have to take the new comer to get ready and then we will test you for.” I just glared back at him. “Let’s go new comer.”

I looked at him like he was on crack and he must have noticed that I wasn’t going to go with him voluntarily, so he just grabbed my arm, not gently I might add, and towed me out of the room. Bodybuilder, as I have decided to call him, walked down the equally dismal hallway, as was the room. He opened a door and shoved me in with the parting words of “change into that dress. You have 10 minutes to shower and be in that dress. If you’re not ready in time I just might have to help you get that way.” He smirked at me and closed the door.

I look around and notice the door that Bodybuilder went through and another door. Therefore, I choose the other door and low and behold, it was a bathroom yay. I got showered and dressed in seven wow a record for me. The dress was a white strapless bubble dress. Man, what is up with these people and their bubbly dresses. I was contemplating this when Mr. Bodybuilder barged in, grabbed my arm, walked out of the room, opened another door, and threw me in the next room. I stumbled a little and fell into a chair.

I looked around the room and was shocked when I saw that the room was like one big vanity. There were beauty products everywhere. I was still looking around when a beautiful woman walked in the door. She was tall probably 5’10 5’11, and she had on a black bubble dress like the one I wore. I was beginning to think that these vampires have a serious problem with bubble dresses. I was brought out of my rambling thoughts by the new vampire.

“Oh great another one.” She muttered.

“You know it wasn’t my idea to be here, you don’t have to act like you got a fork stuck up your butt.” I know it would have been more impressive if I had used a different word, but I don’t cuss.

She looked at me as if I was from a different world. It didn’t bother me that much; I was used to looks like that.

“Never mind let’s just get you ready for testing.” The vampire said.

Two hours later, I had my hair curled with a braided crown. There were also jewel flowers in the braid. My make-up was done very lightly, with black, sparkly, eyeliner, and dark mascara.  Ms. Moody, as I have decided to call her, grabbed my hand, and again I was pulled out of the room and down a hallway, I just stopped looking and let them drag me. When I had stopped moving looked at where I was. I was in a room that looked like a hospital room. It had four beds, but the strange thing was that there was a mirror at the end of every bed. I was pushed onto a bed, and then four vampires came over to my bed. One of the vampires laid across my legs preventing them from moving, and the other two each grabbed an arm. They pushed my arms against the bed. The last vampire that came over to my bed, walked up to me and pulled out a syringe filled with an electric blue substance. That was when I started to struggle. However, being that there were three guys holding me down, and that they were vampires proved an impossible task. Right when the Dr. Vampire, I guess that that’s what he was, finished injecting me with the weird blue stuff, I had somehow managed to kick the vampire across my legs, off me. Unfortunately, he came back. The vampire that was holding my right arm down moved my hair back off my neck and smirked at what he saw.

“Potential, Doc., Dragon Potential.” The vampire told the Dr. Vampire, and in response, Doc. started to scribble on his clipboard. What the heck is a dragon potential?

The vampires left me alone and went to the other bed, which now had someone in it. I looked and saw that it was Lillian. Turning back to the mirror at the end of my bed, I got up and looked at my neck. When I saw it I let out a piercing scream, and all four of the vampires turned around and smirked at me. Well that answers the question of what the heck the Doc meant when he said dragon potential, because there on my neck was a tattoo. A tattoo, the same electric blue of the shot, of a dragon.
