Evelyn’s POV
I drifted in and out of consciousness. I vaguely remember when Henry stopped tarring my back apart with his evil-conival torturing device. I was still drifting in and out of consciousness as someone bandaged my back up, I think it was Chelsea, but I was in so much pain that I couldn’t tell you for sure. I don’t know how long I was unconscious, but when I came to, that moment changed my life forever.
When I came to, I wasn’t in the torture-room, nor was I in the little cell that I started out in, and I certainly wasn’t in a medical room. No, I was in an auditorium like room, and there were people all around. Now I was in a very awkward position, I was lying on the ground with my wrist still in manacles, and a metal like collar was around my neck with a thick chain connecting the collar to a platform that I just realized I was chained to. HOLY CRAP I AM CHAINED TO A FREAKING PLATFORM!!!!! As I tried to stand up, the chain attached to the collar and my wrists, kept me from going any higher than kneeling so I did what anyone else would do in my situation, I drew my height up as high as I could will the constricting chains kept me down. As I looked around, I realized that while I could see the crowd gathered around, they couldn’t see me. I was on the side of the platform with a curtain half stretched covering part of the stage that I was chained to. As I continued to look around me, I saw that I wasn’t the only one chained to the platform in the same manner as I was. As I looked around, I didn’t notice Henry walk onto the platform where the curtain didn’t cover, and he said the words that changed my life for eternity.
“Lets get started claiming these potentials shall we gents?” Henry said in a stage voice that immediately sent a shiver down my spine. There was an uproar of the men’s reply.
“Now the first group of potentials is werewolf potentials, so werewolf if you would like to come and join me up on the stage, we will bring out your potentials.” Henry replied to the uproar.
I watched as men, or should I say vampires, went to the opposite side of the stage that I was on, behind the other curtain, and brought out about a dozen women, one I recognized as Lillian. I watched horrified as the first supposedly werewolf came up and approached the girls all huddled in the middle of the stage.
“Your Highness, such a pleasure to have a werewolf prince here in my humble potential house.” Henry started to suck-up to the first werewolf that walked on the stage with a deep bow. As I looked around, humble would not be the word I would use to describe the auditorium like building. The inside looked like an opera house with gold statues and velvet seats.
“Well Henry, if I find my mate here, you will be getting a lot more business here.” The so-called prince said back to Henry.
“Of course your Highness,” Henry replied and backed off to let the werewolf look around the girls like they were something that you would buy at a store. It disgusted me to no end.
When the werewolf prince looked at Lillian, his eyes lit up and I heard him whisper, “I have finally found you!” Lillian looked up startled by his voice, and she looked scared, I mean she looked terrified.
“I’m Steven sweetheart, what is your name?” The werewolf prince, that I now know is named Steven, asked Lillian.
“No, no, no, no, no, no.” I heard Lillian mutter.
“Sweetheart what’s the matter?” Steven asked taking Lillian into his arms in a protective embrace, not really a hug, more of a protective circle of male muscle.
