ALEX POV
There's really not much to me. I have brown hair, honey type color eyes, I don't really have a good style. I don't wear much makeup, just foundation when I break out and sometimes mascara when I feel like it but that's it. I mostly just wear jeans and hoodies. Don't really socialize. I guess that's why I have no friends, single, my family is a mess, i just have a lame life. I can sing though, it's basically my only benefit, and the fact I love soccer.
"ALEX WHERE IS THE DAMN REMOTE" yelled my older brother, Dylan, from downstairs. I honestly don't know how but my brother and I get along extremely well. He's like my best friend but he's kind of a jock i guess.
"I HAVENT TOUCHED IT! LOOK UNDER THE COUCH" I responded. I grab Dylan's car keys and try to sneak past him.
"Stop right there" he says as I have my hand on the door handle. I roll my eyes and turn around to face him.
"What"
"You know you don't have your license yet." He says getting up and taking his keys from my hand
"Well duh but I have a permit"
"Which means you need a licensed adult with you. Considering I'm 18 and you're 16 means I have to go with you" he says while putting on his all black Nike Roshes
"Whatever let's go but I'm turning 17 in a couple of months" I say as we walk out the door. He let me drive
"ALEX! STOP! YOU JUST RAN A STOP SIGN!" Yelled Dylan
"WHERE?! Oh. Shit." I said
"You gotta watch out. You're lucky there was no police around. Where are we even going anyway?" Dylan asked
"Smoothie King" i said turning into the parking lot. We walked in and ordered.
"So how's school been?" Dylan asked me as we sat down
"I have all A's like always. But I gotta finish a project for m-"
"That's not what I meant." He said and I gave him a confused look, "any friends? Boys?" I rolled my eyes
"I'm serious Alex. You can't just act like you don't care."
"I don't act like I don't care. I actually don't care." I said
"Let me atleast help you with something. I'll call Sierra to give you a complete makeover today since you've been wearing the same 5 hoodies for the past 2 years and have had the same haircut since like middle school" Sierra is Dylan's girlfriend, they've been dating for almost two years now and she's probably the most perfect human being out there.
"No Dylan. Besides I'm busy today I gotta finish that project" I said seriously
"Alright fine. But let me know if you change your mind"
"I'm not gonna change my mind" I said.
"Mhmm" he said smirking and looking at his smoothie. I laughed and we left and went back home. I sat in my room with my music on as I did my project. My music taste does not match my image...like at all. Everyone sees me as the weird lonely kid at school but my music taste is mostly rap, R&B, hip hop, trap, and sometimes stuff like Panic! At The Disco or TØP. But I listen to the same artists over and over ESPECIALLY Drake.
Hours later
I finally finished and it was still early at night. 8pm. I knocked on Dylan's door to check up on him
"Come in" he said. For some reason I just wanted to talk to him...about my parents
"Hey can I just talk to you about something" I said as I laid down on his bed while he sat in his rolly chair in the corner of the room.
"Yeah of course. What is it?"
"It's about mom and dad" I said while sitting up a bit against the wall. He sighed
"Look Alex you know what's going on why do you need me to ex-"
"You're right Dylan. I have no idea what's going on," I said sarcastically, "of course I know what's going on. The problem is we're not doing anything about it"
"There is nothing we can do about it Alex!" He said annoyed
"But we're not even trying. How would we know if we don't try. Mom is never home, ever, she comes like once a week and we have no idea where she is and I don't want to live like this anymore Dylan! Don't you understand. Dad is out there with his other family and he doesn't even give a fuck about us. We need to do something..." Dylan didn't even look at me. "Are you listening?!!-"
"YES ALEX IM FUCKING LISTENING OKAY" he yelled. I flinched surprised by his tone. "YOU THINK I LIKE LIVING LIKE THIS?! YOU NEED TO STOP AND REMEMBER THAT DAD WONT EVEN LISTEN TO US AND WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO IF MOMS NEVER EVE-"
"Dylan please...just calm dow-"
"You know what Alex. You're right. Let's go. Let's go find mom right fucking now."
"That's not what I meant Dylan and I know you don't mean it you're just mad trying to prove a point" I responded
"DAMMIT ALEX. ARE YOU EVER HAPPY WITH ANYTHING. I TAKE CARE OF YOU. IM YOUR BIG BROTHER ALEX I LOVE YOU SO MUCH CAUSE YOURE MY LITTLE SISTER."
"THEN WHY WONT YOU LISTEN TO ME DAMMIT" I yelled back mad
"Look Alex. Dads gone okay he has some other daughter and two other sons. There's nothing we can do about that. Mom is doing who knows what but-"
"Fuck this Dylan you're just like mom. All you do is give up." I walked out, I was done, I didn't care. I just wanted things to change...but how
