As I walked down the crowded school halls I spotted Elliot at his locker and skipped over to him.

"Hey sweet thang." He said when I approached.

"Heeey.... Elliot." Hesitating because I couldn't think of a nickname. We laughed and he slung a lazy arm around my shoulders.

"So what's next?" Elliot asked as we walked down the hall.

"What?"

"On the list, since you won't let me see it." He teased.

"Oh right, the list! Okay let's see number 2 seems good for today." I suggested.

"And what is that?" We had arrived at our class.

"Get tattoos."

"Ooohhh, Adeline picking the daring ones I see. I like it." He winked at me. I melted right there.

"You don't already have any tattoos, do you?" I asked as we walked into the tattoo parlor.

"Not yet. But if I do, it'll be to do with God or you." He smiled.

"You just quoted Madisen Kuhn didn't you?" I asked wondering how he even knew of her poems.  He doesn't strike me as a guy who would read poetry.

"Yeah I did, I may or may not have looked through her book that sits on your bedside table. You had that page marked." He blushed of embarrassment.

"You know they don't end up together in that poem, right?" I asked.

"Yeah I probably should have read more than the first line of the poem." He said scratching the back of his neck blushing again.

"I'm not sure what I want quite yet..." We walked up to the counter and a man covered in tattoos up his neck came to help us.

"Hi what can I do for you two today?" The man asked.

"We want to get tats but we aren't for sure on what to get." Elliot explained.

"oh okay so you two want like matching ones, you want his initials on your boob or what?"

I laughed, "no sir just something to cross off our bucket list."

"What If I got a curse word tattooed on my butt?" Elliot asked me jokingly.

"I would so tell everybody and their neighbor." I laughed.

"Heeeyyyy maybe I don't want personal information about my butt being spread around like that." He acted hurt. He had the cutest pouty face.

"Well don't get a tattoo on your butt and I won't say anything." I acted as if I zipped my mouth shut and threw away the key.

"I'm kind of scared Elliot. Like what if it triggers somethin and I die right here in a tattoo parlor. I dont want to die here!" I whisper panicked.

He grabbed me by the shoulders and kind of chuckled. "Listen you are the most fearless girl I know. You can do this."

"Yeah I know but-"

"But what? You'll be fine."

"Yeah... I've got it I know what I'm getting!"

"What?"

"It's a surprise."

Elliot grinned. "Well before your excitement dies why don't we go back and get this thing done before you think of something crazy to stop you."
