Elliot's POV
I rushed into the room that Adeline was in. I saw her sleeping self laying peacefully on the hospital bed with IVs and wires connected to her keeping her alive.
I sat down in the chair next to her and grabbed her hand, rubbing it with my thumb. Her eyes fluttered open looking at me then sent me a faint smile.
"Hey baby how ya feeling?" her dad asked moving her hair from her face.
"Fearless." Her voice was hoarse as I smiled cheekily back at her.
"So we're gonna have to have a nice talk about this tattoo you got." Mr. Withers said rocking on his heels.
"Not now daddy I'm falling a s-." She joked and closed her eyes pretending to sleep and started snoring. I held in a laugh.
"No we're just glad you're alright baby girl." Her mom told with a smile.
"Guess what?" Her dad said.
"What?"
"If you want, the doctors want to try chemotherapy." Mr. Withers couldn't hold back his smile and neither could I.
"I thought the tumor was too deep?" She wondered.
"I'm not saying there's any guarantees but she said that it's worth a try if you up for it."
"Well yeah of course!" She locked her eyes with mine and i squeezed her hand my smile growing bigger at the thought of spending more time with Adeline.
"When does it start?" She asked with a spark in her eye. It's different than the looks that I've seen before.
"The doctor said we'll get that figured out later but for now just relax."
