Oliver's POV

I don't know why I suddenly announced that I will eat lunch with them, but I assured myself that is a great chance to know if Melissa and my dear brother are in a real relationship. I know Melissa too well. She wouldn't just find a complete stranger and claim him as her boyfriend. No, she was better than that. Her requirement is that a guy that likes her has to court her for a year, then she will say her answer. Courting her for a year gives her more than enough to check on the guy's background. If he wasn't good enough for her, she would say that in front of him before the year ends.

At least, that's what I did, and it worked, but...

She's cautious, but kind and gentle. She tries her best not to hurt other people's feelings on purpose, because...she's a...hopeless romantic, to be honest. She's as fragile as a glass. She cries more than she laughs. Hell, sometimes she smiles on the outside but cries on the inside, so that nobody would worry constantly about her.

I know, it was stupid to cheat on a nice woman like who already suffered, but...everything happens for a reason, and mine was, well...to make her think that I was the wrong guy for her, but it never crossed my mind that she actually had evidence of it. Call me a coward, but I blame myself as well.

*Flashback*

"Hey, Miranda.." I called out, motioning her to a nearby alley

I decided to talk to Miranda, about my plan...for Melissa's sake.

"Yeah? What is it? Did you hurt Melissa?!" She shouted in my ear

"I need your help.."

"Huh? For what?"

"You see...." I whispered the plan to her

"Are you INSANE?!?!" She screamed

I told her to shut up and explained that it was all for Melissa...

...even if it meant hurting her, and making her think I am nothing but a Casanova.

"B-But.." She stammered, "Your plan will work, but with a heavy price."

"And I'm willing to pay it.." I said sadly, "..no matter what."

"Alright.." She said in defeat, "I'll play to this fake 'cheating' play of yours, but remember that this is your fault."

I nodded, not prepared for what happened next..

*End of Flashback*

"Oliver!" Melissa shouted

"Y-Yeah?" I asked

She stared at me, confused, "What's the matter with you? Do you agree to go to the French restaurant, Tres Bien la bouffe, or not?"

"Yes, sorry. I was lost in my thoughts."

She huffed, "Alright, let's hurry."

We went to the French restaurant rather quickly, because while I was daydreaming, June made a reservation. We went inside, and I was shocked to see how plain the walls are. They were painted white, without any decorations. The tables were covered in cream tablecloths. The chairs were wooden with cushions. We sat at the table nearest to the entrance. I sat next to June's redhead secretary, to her disappointment, but the feeling was mutual. Melissa sat beside June, without hesitation. I clenched my fists under the table.

We ordered the food, then June and I had an unintentional staring contest when the waiter left.

"So, how did you and Melissa met?" June asked
