I just nodded and hugged him one last time before stepping inside and walking up to my room.

The door was closed, which it usually never is, so I cautiously opened it, surprised at who I saw perched on my bed.

“Hey.” Niall said softly.

"H-Hey." I stuttered, my mind going completely blank.

"I guess I sort of have a habit of surprising you like this." he chuckled nervously, standing up from his previous seat. I just nodded and looked down at the ground.

"I’m sorry." I whispered and he shook his head no.

"No, I’m sorry." I don’t know why either of us are apologizing, it just seems like the right thing to do. He stood up from the bed and took my hand in his, gesturing to the door.

I followed him down the stairs and out the front door. I chose not to ask him where we were going, and just let him take me. His fingers still fit perfectly between mine, making my heart and tummy flutter with millions of butterflies.

He stopped walking and I ran into his back, paying more attention to the fact we were holding hands then where I was going.

"We’re here." he smiled and I looked forward.

The beach where we shared our first kiss.

I looked up at him and he was staring out at the setting sun, his hand tightening around mine.

"Come on." he whispered and wrapped his arm around my waist, leading me further out onto the beach, to the same spot we had had the camp fire. Instead of the pile of wood that was always there, there was a picnic blanket, tons of sweets, his guitar, and extra pillows and blankets.

"Did you…"

"Yea." he blushed as we sunk down onto the blanket.

"Not that I don’t love it, I do, but why are we here?"

"I was hoping we could completely start over. Everything. And, in my mind, this was the beginning."

Tears filled my eyes and I nodded, pulling him into a hug. He hugged me back and pulled away, leaving his hands resting on my back.

"Oh my god." I giggled and pulled the package of Oreos out of the basket.

"From ‘The Grocery Olympics’" he stated in his announcer voice, making me laugh. I opened the package and took one out, handing the rest to Niall. He gladly took them and popped one in his mouth.

He smiled and looked down, something on my arm catching his eye. I looked down all confused like and realized both of my tattoos were in full view. I covered them with my bracelets and Niall reached over, moving them again and turning them so he could read them straight.

He smiled wide at my right wrist, but when he turned to my left, it sank. He slowly looked up into my eyes and traced the inked, cursive writing that spelled out his name.

"I feel so dumb." I mumbled, blushing as he continued to stare at my face. “Don’t judge me." I groaned and pulled my arms away from his grasp.

"I still love you, too." he said softly and I looked up at him, shocked at what he said.

"What do you me-" Niall cut me off by crashing his lips down onto mine.

Every emotion, feeling, thought, and word was felt at that moment.

Nothing else existed.

Nothing else had to.

Just Niall and I.

Together.

He held onto my neck and hip and I had my arms fall around his shoulders, finally getting over the initial shock of his lips colliding with mine. It felt so natural, like everything was meant to be this perfect.

The closeness of our bodies increased and I climbed onto his lap, not necessarily straddling him, but our legs were tangled together.

"I love you, Kaylee." he whispered and I smiled into the continuous kiss.

"I love you too, Niall."
