I was thinking to myself as I was watching Ariana sleep on my bed peacefully. There's nothing wrong with doing that..

I couldn't help but think back to earlier when I was asking her for her address. She seemed so nervous when I asked her for it. I feel like she's hiding something from me, and whatever it is, I tend to find out, but I won't rush her. And I know I barely met Ariana, but something inside me tells me to help her.

Especially the way that the kids treat her at school is just plain mean and rude, and it looks like Ariana needs someone to be there for her since it looks like no one else is.

That Chris guy too...how much I wanted to punch the crap out of him, but I didn't do it since I didn't want to make a bad start on my first day of school. Well, I did miss my other classes so..

I looked back at Ariana and she looked so innocent and just harmless. I don't get how people could be so harsh and cruel to her. She never did anything wrong to them, so why pick on her? Guess those are the questions in life that we will never get.

Ariana started tossing and turning in her sleep, so it looked like she was gonna wake up soon. Before she did, I decided to go and make her something to eat for when she wakes up incase she might be hungry. "Is she okay?" My mom asks me as I make my way down the stairs. "Yeah, she's fine." I tell her.

Back to when we arrived to my house, my mom was wondering what I was doing out of school since it was my first day and that I should of been there, so I explained it all to her about Ariana and it took some convincing, but she pulled through at the end like the loving mother she is.

"I raised you well." My mother says as she rubs my back while I'm making Ariana her food in the kitchen. "Yes, you did." I said as I turn my head a little to smile at her.

"Justiiiin?" Ariana shouts to me as I finish up making her food. "Go deliver the girls food to her my baby!" My mother playfully says to me as she spanks my butt. "Mooom!" I said looking back at her in an annoying way as I make my way to Ariana.

"I'm still here." I tell her as I didn't reply back to when she called me. "Oh." Ariana replies as she looks up at me. "Justin..." Ariana sighs as she sees the food that I made for her. "Just for you. I thought you might be hungry for when you wake up from your nap." I said.

"You know you didn't have to do that for me." "But I wanted to, now here." I say as I hand the food to her. "Thank you so much." Ariana thanks me as she sits up on the bed with her food. "Not a problem."

Just as she was about to bite into her food, she asks me something. "Why are you even doing this?" "Doing what?" I question. "Like why are you being so kind, caring, and nice to me. Why did you defend me those times." She says. "Because, I'm trying to save you." I gently say to her.

"But you don't even know anything about me." She tells me. "I know enough to know that you need someone to be there for you. I know enough to know that those kids pick on you daily, and that you need someone to save you from your pain, so that's what I'm going to do." "But why?" She asks.

"I'm not gonna stand there like all the others and just watch you get bullied. I'm actually gonna do something about that and make sure that you don't get hurt as long as I'm around you." I honestly tell Ariana.

As I was done with my speech, Ariana suddenly started to cry. I quickly came to her and moved the food to the side as I engulfed her into my arms on the bed. "Shhh, it's okay." I softly say to her as I gently stroke her hair. As I was doing so, I see my mother standing at my door frame with a worried look.

I give her an assuring look to let her know that everything's fine. She lovingly looks at me before she leaves. After a few minutes, all I hear is Ariana sniffling as she settles down. "Everything's gonna be alright." I say to her as I try calming her more.

"Justin, thank you so much. I feel like I'm always thanking you, but I mean each and every one of them." Ariana tells me as she snuggles more into my chest. "Your welcome." I said.

..........

"What time is it?" Ariana asks me as we were watching tv. "6:30. Why?" "I should get going. Thanks for letting me chill with you." She tells me as she quickly gets off my bed. When she did, she fell down.

Once again, I came rushing to her side. "Be careful Ariana." I tell her as I help her up. "Yeah, sorry, I just forgot about my ankle." She says as she sits back down on my bed for support.

"I'll help you get home, lemme just put on my shoes." I said to her as I was putting them on my feet. "No!" Ariana quickly screams to me which surprises me. "I'm sorry, I mean no, I'm fine." She corrects herself. "Why not? It will be right away," I try explaining.

"No, I'll just ask your mother." Ariana tells me. "I can take you, it's no problem." "I don't want you to. Now please, just let me ask your mother."

I don't know why she didn't want me to take her myself, It would be the same thing. "Okay, sure." I say finally giving in.

............

"See you tomorrow at school?" I ask her as we both stand next to the door. "Yeah." Ariana tells me as she smiles. "Okay." I say returning the smile back to her as I hug her. After a couple of seconds, I release her from my hold.

"Okay mom, you can have her now." I tell my mother who was patiently waiting on the side until we finished our goodbyes. I felt like I knew Ariana well like a long time friend, even though I just met her.

The reason I got defensive with Justin towards the car ride was because of my dad, as you already know.

I planned to tell Justin's mother to drop me off a couple houses away without her knowing. Yeah, they could drop me off outside of my house and not find out, but when I'm not home and my dad is, he starts waiting for me outside the porch until I get home. I definitely didn't want him to make a scene if Justin were to drop me off.

"Just right here, thank you Ms. Mallete." I say to her as I give her the wrong location to my house. "Your welcome sweetie, and please, call me Pattie." She tells me. "Okay, Pattie." I said smiling to her. I limp just a little as I slowly pretend to make my way to this person's door, as I'm done closing her car door.

"Oh honey, do you need any help walking to your doorstep?" Pattie asks me as she rolls down the window looking back at me. "No, I'm fine. Thanks." I say. "Are you sure?" "Yeah." I assure her. "Well, okay. Hope I see you more in the future." Pattie said. "Me too, take care Pattie." "You too dear, bye!" She says as she drives off with me waving at her.

Got that taken care of, now I just need to walk a couple houses down to reach mine.

............

After a few painful limps I finally made it to my house, and just as I was expecting, my dad was waiting outside. As I slowly keep walking towards my doorstep, my dad spots me. "Hey!! Where have you been!?" My dad angrily spats at me as I gently try making my way up the small amount of steps, but I suddenly get yanked by my dad.

"Dad! My ankle hurts since I sprained it and please don't make it any worse!" I shout at him as I try recovering from that forceful pull. "I don't give a fuck!!! Now get your slow ass in this fucking house right now!" He screams at me as he pushes me into the house. And it was anything but gentle.

My dad slams the door hard as my ankle started to hurt more since his roughness towards me. I looked up at him in terror as I stay on the ground. I know what's gonna come next...
