Long car drives.

Harry: "People are just really, really dumb, you know?" You murmured, clicking the lock button on your phone before sliding it into your front pocket. Harry flicked his gaze over at you for a second, lips forming a straight line across his face as he waited patiently for you to further explain. "Like, they always have to make you feel bad for stuff that you didn't even do. You're hurt? Oops, that's my fault. Your boyfriend broke up with you? Gotta be my fault too. What? Your parents yelled at you because of the leftover alcohol they found underneath your bed? Yeah, sorry, that's my bad as well. Like, why can't some people just take the blame for things? It's really not that hard," you muttered under your breath, wiggling yourself further into the passenger chair. "Hey," Harry hummed, dropping his right hand to your thigh and hooking his thumb in. "Don't get yourself all worked up, yeah? There's still two hours left to this drive and I don't want a grump in here." Further grumbling your rant under your breath, you straightened out your composure and leaned for your forehead against the dashboard. "Everyone's just so duuuumb," you moaned, patting the undersides of your hands to your cheeks. "Like, this was supposed to be a nice getaway where I could just forget everything for a bit. But of course that's not what it is, it never is what it is." Harry beamed then, flicking his signal on enough to switch lanes before rubbing his palm to your thigh in a consoling fashion. "Don't be like that. I've been told many a time I'm perfect at distractions." There was a momentary silence, Harry bobbing his head from side to side before he implored, "I spy with my little eye.. something yellow."

Liam: Kicking your feet up onto the dashboard, you learned further into the passenger seat. Long drives were nice for the first hour or two, but it had already been three and you were growing anxious. "Are we there yet?" You asked, dropping your head to the left so you could effortlessly look at Liam. His hands tightened around the steering wheel nearly unnoticeably. "You just asked me that five minutes ago," he noted, not even bothering to mask his exasperation. Carelessly, you gave your shoulders a shrug. "I'm boooooooored, Li," you droned, sitting upright so you could fiddle with the radio station. It kept your attention for about thirty seconds before you were sinking back into the chair and crossing your arms over your chest. "I told you you should've brought a DVD or something to play. Downloaded a movie onto your iTunes, you could have used the iPad." Dismissively, you swat your hand in his direction before both your hands clasped over his free one. Your fingertips traced the lines of his knuckles before turning his hand onto its back, slowly - almost methodically - going along the indented lines of his palm. Liam's fingers waggled a bit when you hit the center, a breath of a chuckle leaving his lips simultaneously. "I wannnnnna hold your hand," you sang out dramatically, "And when I touch you, I feel happy inside. It's such a feeling that my love, I can't hiiiiide." Liam wiggled his hand free, gripping the other end of the steering wheel with it as he shook his head. He tried sucking his lower lip into his mouth to muffle the string of chuckles, but to no avail. The corners of his eyes crinkled as he threw his head back in laughter. "You're an idiot," he murmured once he quieted down, sneaking a glance at you before averting his attention entirely back to the road. Quickly, he tacked on, "But my idiot."

Louis: "Anything else?" She asked. "Fries!" You stage whispered, poking at Louis's side. "And a vanilla milkshake!" Louis reiterated your words before mouthing along with the drive-thru operator, stumbling a couple of times during her questions because, despite popular belief, the only question asked wasn't 'would you like some fries with that?'. But the grin that spread across his face as soon as you two moved onto the first window was enough for you to shrug off the twitch in your stomach that was begging to poke fun at him. "Aweeeeesome," Louis sang out as you two pulled back onto the highway. "I have never been more in love with food in my life," you commented as you pulled a burger from the bag. Halfway through your food and with being back on the highway for what now felt like fifteen minutes, Louis opened his mouth and turned his head only enough to see you from his peripheral. "Oh, you want me to feed you?" You inquired, grinning brightly in his direction. Simply, Louis nodded his head. "What do you say?" Louis grunted at the way your eyes squinted with joy and his throat almost chopped up the words on their way out his mouth, but the fry between your index finger and thumb was just too tempting. "You're the most awesome girlfriend ever and I'm forever in debt to you for suggesting us go on this trip even though the drive is deadly and you totally win at everything, including Fifa. Even though that last bit is a lie and we both know I could kill you every which way." Rolling your eyes at the additional comment, you outstretched your hand enough for Louis to snag the fry, groaning out loudly. "I've never tasted a better fry in my life," he conceded, wiggling his shoulders so they sat better on the back of the seat. You then turned yourself around so you were completely facing him, setting the bag of food on your lap before you fished out a chicken nugget. "Here comes the train," you gushed, tongue poking out between your teeth. "Choo choo!"

Niall: "This was a nice idea," he noted, voice hushed so much you nearly lost his comment to the tune of Jessie J's 'Domino'. Niall hooked his left ankle underneath his right, letting his hand rest with his palm up on the middle console. Almost instantaneously, you dropped your right hand into his. "I like going away with you, 'specially when there's long drives like this. It's a nice kind of quiet, yeah?" You nodded your head, although murmured, "But the second we get to the hotel, I'm changing into pajamas and passing out." Niall's lower lip jutted out in response, his hand giving yours a little squeeze before he suggested, "Lemme drive, then? If you're tired. You don't have to drive the whole way, you know, babe." You pursed your lips for a moment before decidedly shaking your head. "It's alright," you answered along with half a shrug. Niall shifted so his torso leaned against the middle console, both his hands now holding either side of your one hand. "'M gonna distract you then. Maybe the time'll go quicker." He then leaned his forehead to your shoulder, his own eyes falling shut as soon as he had done so. "You're really comfortable," he murmured, inching his forehead closer to the junction of your shoulder and neck so his lips could brush over the spot of skin just below the hem of your sleeve. His teeth bit at the inside of his lower lip, his eyes locked on the goosebumps that were already rising to your skin. Niall then kissed horizontally along your arm, from one side to the other, letting his lips linger at the last kiss before he had to pull away to exhale a chuckle. "Cold?" He teased when you couldn't help but shudder, slipping his hands down so they could fiddle with the fingers of your free hand. "No more distracting me," you decidedly changed subjects, scolding him only lightheartedly. "I'm driving."

Zayn: "Oh god," he moaned, leaning forward so his forehead collided with the dashboard. "How long have we been driving?" You snorted, flicking your blinker as you changed lanes before quipping, "You mean, how long have I been driving?" His lips parted to retort but you were quick to cut him off. "Zayn, you drove up until we got onto the highway. That was, like, five seconds." Zayn dramatically moved his mouth around with your words in a mocking manner. "Yeah, yeah, yeah," he hummed once you finished. "How much longer is there?" Taking the chance of glancing at the clock, the green lights illuminated 9:47 PM. Inhaling enough to puff out your cheeks, you exhaled with your lips pursing to make the sound of bubbles popping. "Still got a long way to go, bub," you admitted. This time, he let his head fall to the window. He let his eyes fall shut as he grumbled, "And I can't even go to sleep or else you'll go to sleep and then the car will swerve off the road and land on the edge of a cliff." You parted your lips, eyebrows pulling together with mock offense as you sputtered, "Excuse you, I'm an excellent driver. And I'm capable of keeping myself awake, thank you very much. If it's past your bedtime, you're more than welcome to go to sleep, you big baby." In simple response, Zayn leaned over the middle console and licked a stripe up your cheek. "Zayn!" You scolded loudly, the car swerving a little to the right with your sudden posture change. "That's so gross! Wipe it off!" Zayn snickered wickedly as he turned the radio on. "Finally, some good tunes.. California dreamin', california dreamin', I'm gonna stay, stay, stay," Zayn sang along, gripping the sides of the passenger seat as he bounced around excitedly. Your eyes widened, what little sleep was lingering around the brim had immediately evaporated. "You're insane," you were able to murmur before you were sucked in and singing along.
