chapter 5

Calums pov:
I told myself it wouldn't happen but her smile and the way she looks down at the floor when I complement her just makes me feel funny, like you know when you go over a  hill or something. But we ate and then went for a walk.
"Tonight was beautiful Calum!" Ruby gushed, her cheeks glowing in the moonlight.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, are you cold?" I asked whilst taking off my jacket. As I placed it around her shoulders we made eye contact and it was so hard to break it off.
We walked in silence for a while, our fingertips touching ever so slightly, I admit I took advantage by carefully holding her hand but she didn't protest. God I'm such a don't stop. (AN: I hate myself lols)
As we walked through the door, I saw Mali,
" OH MY FUCKING GOD!" For me this was great to see my sister but for ruby it was weird because she had just seen the person she had had just spent a great evening with scream at some girl.
As Mali turned around I saw someone I didn't expect to see for a while. Michael Clifford.

Rubys pov
When the girl turned after Calum screamed at her he saw some guy with red hair and a pale face and his happy face went dark and cold. Calum grabbed my hand and led me back to my room.
"What's going on Calum?" I demanded. I really like him. Please don't let that be an ex.
"That's Mali my sister and the other thing is called Michael and we need to stay away from him." Calums disgust in his voice said it all. Is Michael Mali's boyfriend!? What's so bad about Michael?
"What's your problem with Michael?" I asked gently, putting my hand on his broad back.

Calum looked me in the eyes and explained it all.
"Michael and I were best friends for as long as I can remember, we went to school together and even started up a crappy band called bromance but we decided it was awful and we stopped it, anyway when he turned 16 he had a near death experience and he wasn't the same after, we would never see him at school and he turned dark and mysterious. When he turned 17 he told us the reason behind his attitude and behaviour. He told me that he was a vampire. Immediately I laughed because I thought he was joking but he stood there not laughing and then I realised he was serious. He told me he wanted to prove it and I backed away thinking he was gonna bite the shit out of me but he just ran and he ran so fast,  I can't describe how fast he went and I just stood there thinking fuck how does he do that and then he said because I am a vampire and then I knew he could read my mind but the problem I had with him is that he fell in love with my sister and turned her into one of his species and they would fight all the time and I hoped and prayed they would end it so she could come back home and she did once but then she left two years ago and didn't come back. That's why I was so happy when I saw her."

"Wow." I gasped

"I know."
