Chapter One

<B> Chapter One </B>

It's all my idea.

"Let's go to the cinema on Saturday. It's been ages," I say to my two best friends Jeanette and Maxine.

"Okay, maybe we'll see some cute boys," says Jeanette who practically lives to speak to boys and shop for ridiculously expensive clothes.

"Yeah. Alright," says Maxine, but she looks surprised.

"Haven't you got Mr Budgen's English assignment due?"

"Yes, well, I think I need a break," I say without thinking.



I'm <B> Ellie </B> and I am fourteen years old. I live with my younger brother Jack, my dad and his girlfriend Leanne.

I have middle length frizzy brown hair. It sticks up in all the wrong places, I'm <B> F.A.T </B> I'm not chubby. I'm fat. There's no point lying, I know I'm not the slimmest person and I'm okay with that.

"We'll go to Asda's," I say firmly. "We'll buy our tickets and then split up for the sweets,"

"And then we'll go to Pizza Hut and pig out," says Maxine, getting more enthusiastic by the minute.

The film ends and as agreed we headed towards Pizza Hut.

"I'm starving, what you having Ellie?," says Maxine with a huge grin on her face.

"A margarita with cheesy garlic bread," I say.

"I'm trying today's special ice cream afterwards. It's raspberry mixed with honey," Jeanette interrupts.

"Hi. Can I take your order please?," A lady with big hopped earrings and a high ponytail was getting ready to take our orders.

"Two margaritas, one pepperoni,3 cheesy garlic breads," Maxine says as her eyes gleam as she imagines food.

"Alright and what drink?" The waitress says.

"One coke and one banana milkshake and one Dr. Pepper," She writes everything down and leaves.

"So, Ellie have you even started your homework?," says Jeanette.

"Not really, but I'll get it done," I say hurriedly.

"Really, when?" Maxine asked.

"Sometime this week," I reply.

"I'm going to the toilet," Maxine says.

"Me too, I need to touch up on my makeup," says Jeanette as her and Maxine leave the table.

A few moments go pass and the waitress who served us arrived at our table holding a tray of food.

"There you are, I'll be right back with the Banana Milkshake," she says.

A group of boys enter through the main doors and take a seat in front of me. I'm sat here on <B>MY own</B> with all this <B> FOOD </B> surrounding me, normally I wouldn't care but I must of looked like a right fat cow. Three plates of different types of pizza's and then the extra sides of cheesy garlic bread and not to mention the two remaining drinks. I've already started eating my pizza.

"*cough* <B>PIG</B> *cough*"

The guy in the green obey SnapBack was staring right at me with all his other friends.

I felt my cheeks flush bright pink and I wondered where on earth Maxine and Jeanette were?

A few more minutes went by. Their food is getting cold. Maxine said she was starving.

"Oh great, our foods here,"

I hear a familiar voice behind me. I turn around on my seat and see Jeanette and Maxine heading towards my table. *sigh*

"Who are they?" Jeanette instantly says as she sits beside me.

"Does it matter?," Maxine shot her down.

"Yes!" Jeanette gave Maxine an obvious look.

The green hat boy whistles over at our table, I just wanted to dig a hole right there and certainly right now.

I tried my best to ignore him but the worlds <B> PIG </B> coiled around my mind. I finished of my pizza and said nothing while Maxine and Jeanette chattered among themselves.

"He's really cute." says Jeanette.

"He's alright. I don't really like the bright colours though," Maxine implies.

"You ready to go?," I ask impatiently.

Jeanette didn't listen. I tried to talk to Maxine her eyes were on her food. "Jay, you haven't eaten anything?," I try again.

"I'm not hungry," she waves her hand. "How do I look?," says Jeanette as she fluffs her hair up.

"Fine, why?," I ask.

"Because I'm going over to talk to that guy,"

"What on earth are you doing that for?," I say sternly.

"He's cute," there's no point trying to talk her out of it. She's already pulled her light pink bra top down just enough was on display.

Her cleavage was pushed up to the max. She smiles and walks over to the table they don't mind and let her join.



"Oh cheer up will you," Maxine says with a mouthful of cheesy garlic bread.

I could hear laughter and shrieking from Jeanette's table.

"Max, Ellie!" She calls out.



Maxine looks up from her plate and sees her waving her arms calling us over she pays no attention and carries on eating.

I sigh in relief. I don't know what I would of done if she went over there too.

"I could do with an icecream," says Maxine not satisfied.

"Let's go sit with Jay," she says.

"But she's with them guys," I say.

"So?,"

I couldn't think of an excuse so here I am sat at a booth with five guys I didn't even know who called me a pig.



"Hello?," I answered my white iPhone. It was just my dad saying he's in the car park.

"Maxine, Jeanette we have to go," I say a little too overconfident.

"Aw, you've got to be in bed little girlies!," A guy with a ombré shirt cooed.

"No we haven't," I say with attitude.

Maxine and Jeanette look at each other. "Who wants another drink?," says Jeanette.

"Jeanette we can't, we have to go," I say

"No way. It's far too early,"

"I agree Ellie. It's like nine?," says Maxine.

"So you aren't coming?,"

They both ignored my question. "I thought we was sleeping at mine watching films," I say hurt.

"Ellie, I'm going to stay. I'll see you at school," says Jeanette.

I turn my attention onto Maxine.

"I'll ring you when I get home," she spoke without looking at me.

So that's it. I grab my things and walk out into the car park.

"Where's Maxine and Jeanette?," My dad wastes no time and fires the questions away. "They're inside," I say.

"Oh.. Are they not finished eatin-," "They've finished eating. They're with some <B> BOYS! </B>," I cut him off.

"Well I'm glad you made the right decision," he says and drives off for home.
