Chapter Eight

Madison's POV

I went to my first hour which I had with Logan. For some reason, he was in most of my classes. Five of them, in fact. Logan followed me in and sat next to me. He looked bored, listening to Mr. Jenkins teach. Though he always looked like that in class. Did I mention that we had five classes together? Three before lunch and two after lunch.

His new friends greeted him and he nodded. The girls surrounding us started giggling, which annoyed the heck out of me. But I was impressed. Already the second day of school for him and already hje was popular. After my classes, it was lunch. I sighed. Was Thomas not here today too? Thomas was my best friend. We do everything together.

He catches colds easily so that's why he didn't come to school yesterday. I smiled when I saw him at our table. He already prepared food for me. When I approached, he smiled warmly at me. His smile was dazzling. Thomas was handsome. I was not lying. For some reason he always hung around with me even though he was super handsome and awesome. Girls love him too but he said he wouldn't trade me for anything. I smiled as I remember that day we started being friends. I sat by him.

"Are you okay? Did your cold get any better?"

He grinned. "Yup, I'm a better. I got you some food."

"Thanks," I said. "You're such a gentleman." Unlike someone I know. I thought then stopped my thought immediately. Why am I thinking about him?

"Are you okay?" Thomas asked. He always knew how I was feeling.

"Yup, I'm fine." I grabbed the sandwich and started eating it.

"So I heard," Thomas said.

"Heard what?"

"That the principal's son is here. I saw you riding with him this morning. Do you guys know each other?"

Should I tell him? I thought. We don't keep secrets from each other. He's the only person that I'll ever trust my life with.

"Just tell me Maddie. No need to worry. I'm your best friend."

I nodded, giving in. "Look, you can't tell nobody and you swear to never speak of this to anyone." He nodded. "Okay, um, yesterday? No it was a couple days ago. Ah, I don't remember. But during school, Mr. Chase called me to his office and he told me that he knew my secret about living alone."

Thomas' eyes widen. "Really?"

I nodded. "So he told me that I could live with him in exchange I have to tutor his son, Logan Chase, the new guy you were talking about before."

"You're living together?" He asked, all loud.

"Shh," I said. "Why are you talking so loud? Yeah I am. It's not like I have a choice anyways."

He frowned and looked over at Logan. "I don't like you living with him."

"Why not?"

"He seems dangerous," Thomas said and drank his milk.

"He is," I admitted.

Thomas choked and milk almost came out of his mouth.

"What the heck? Why are you choking?" I asked, laughing.

"Don't laugh at me," he said. "You surprised me."

I continued laughing and notice someone watching me. Who? I thought and looked around and my eyes landed on Logan's. He was staring intently at me. I gave him a curious look. Why is you staring at me like that? He wasn't even paying attention to the people around him. Neither of us looked away and suddenly I got the feeling that we were the only people here.
