Third Person's POV:
Jasmeet picked up the phone without looking at the caller ID, "Hello Jasmeet Ahuwalia speaking." She answered in a sleepy voice, but the response from the person on the other side of the phone gave her a zor ka jhatka (Sudden shock)...Upon hearing what they had to say, Jasmeet shot up. "Arun..." She said, in her best attempt at a soothing voice. "Mom's going to be fine, don't worry." Her 13 year old brother may still be a child, but he was old enough to understand that she wasn't being very honest.
"Di, please kuch jaldi karo. Main maa ko bhi khona nahi chata (Sis, please do something quickly. I don't also want to lose mom).'' Arun said, in a sad voice. Jasmeet shivered as she listened to her brother sob, "I'll talk to you later di, doctor said I could go inside." Arun mumbled, before cutting the line.
Jasmeet threw her phone across the bed, frustrated, upset, and worried at the same time. It was like the entire family's problems were on her shoulders. It was a horrible thought, thinking she could soon lose her only parent, her mother, to a horrible disease called Cancer.
Arun just informed her that her mother was in a hospital bed, she had just gotten painful attack. Suffering from great pain, Jasmeet's mother still didn't want Arun to tell her daughter about it. She knew Jasmeet would do just about anything to save her.
Upon seeing the sunrise, she took a deep breath. "Hope appears on the horizon every morning, in the form of a brand new day." She told herself.
____________________________________________Jasmeet payed the driver as she got out of the taxi.. She was standing in front of a huge mansion, she double checked her notebook to see if this was where her meeting was held.
Every person was inside wearing designer clothing, even at 8 in the morning. The whole scene displayed formality in every corner...Except the guard.
He was sleeping, drooling...And singing. "Main lovely ho gayiaan, nam tera padh ke, naam tera--(Bollwood Item Song)" He sang, sounding like a drunk mess. Jasmeet shook him forcefully, "Bhaisab! Wake up!" She said.
He suddenly sat up and started yelling, "Chor! Bhago sab lok, Chor! (Thief! Everyone run, theif!)" Jaz stepped away from him. Frustrated, she ignored the guard and stepped in through the gates.
"Excuse me?" Said a woman behind her. Jasmeet turned back to see a girl in her late twenties. From first impression, she looked like the stuck up type. "May I know, who are you?" She asked. Jasmeet flashed a forced smile. "Jasmeet Ahuwalia. Wedding planner."
"Not what I expected..." The girl said, looking at Jasmeet, bottom to top. "Gia Mathur. It's my wedding being planned. Follow me." Jasmeet tagged behind Gia, she was used to the rude treatment.
_____________________________________________After very long 2 hours, Gia and her fiancé Aakash, had finally explained what they wanted their wedding to look like. Jasmeet looked at her notebook to see exactly 5 pages of notes! "Have a good day," Jasmeet said, before turning to leave the room.
"Just remember, this wedding is going to be at the covers of magazines. We want nothing but the best." Gia called after her. Jasmeet sighed, wondering what she'd gotten herself into.
_____________________________________________The next day, Jasmeet and her team starting to bringing their decorations. They carried inside large quantities of things such as white roses, purple irises and gold string lights. She gave her team exact directions.
Gia and Aakash's families were crowded at the front gates waiting for someone. It was a wedding, bound to be guests.
After 15 minutes, everyone was on a role. "Di, this isn't working," Someone called. Jaz looked over to see a girl named Aaina trying to hang Wicker Rattan Ball, Fairy Light Lantern on a tree. Jasmeet sighed, remembering her 5 hours at the mall trying to find exactly what Gia wanted.
"Tum sab Ki flowers ke saath help karo (You help everyone with the flowers), I'll handle this." Jasmeet told her. Telling herself that she wasn't one to give up.
Jaz climbed onto their 5 step ladder and reached up the tree. Through the branches, she saw the crowd heading back in. One name being repeated. Cabir.
Ignoring her curiosity she struggled to attach the lantern. Suddenly, her outstretched foot slipped out of place and in seconds, her body hit the ground, aching with pain. Beside her, the lantern shattered in pieces.
Everyone's eyes turned to her, glaring her down. Finally, a man in his early twenties came up to her and offered his hand. Giving her a sympathetic smile, he asked, "Are you okay?"
His voice carried the hint of a British accent. He was wearing a denim jacket on top of a white shirt, looking quite adorable.
Jasmeet returned a sheepish smile and nodded as he helped her up. "Cabir. Brother of the bride." He said, introducing himself.
"Jasmeet. Organizing all of this." She replied awkwardly. At least the brother isn't as stuck up, she thought.
Thankfully, after a few moments, the crowd stopped staring at her and moved up. On the negative side, Gia came marching up to her.
"Do you know what you've done? This is all coming out of my budget you know! I don't even know why I took my friends recommendation!" Gia yelled at the top of her voice. Jasmeet's team 'secretly' stole glances, feeling bad for their head.
Jaz silently played with her hair as she listened, embarrassed and not wanting to upset her even more. But what Cabir said next, made her eyes widen in shock.
