Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: Seeing him.

I woke up feeling a little  uneasy. I didn't know why, until I remembered the phone call between Mallory and me last night.

Today was the first day of school and I didn't want to go, but nonetheless I had to get up and get ready.
I chose to wear my light high waisted jeans and a white crop top.
I topped it off with my blue high top converse.

I just put my hair in a messy bun and grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.
My mom was making breakfast when I went into the kitchen.

"Hey, hunny" she said

"Hey mom"

"Do you want to eat this morning"

"Not really, my stomach kind of hurts. I think I'm just getting nervous. You know first day back, and all?"

"I know,my little girl is growing up. She's going to graduate this year and then you leave me. I just-"

I cut her off before she could start crying her eyes out.

"Mom it's okay, please don't cry. You should be happy for me, not sad." I said glancing at my watch.

"Mom, I should actually go. I don't want to be late on my first day of school. Bye I love you"

"Bye love you too sweetheart"

I started walking out the door and toward my school. It was only three blocks away from my house so I usually walked. No need for a car,I like walking and just thinking.

Walking to and from school cleared my head. It also helped me think about problems that I'm usually in.

I remembered last year that the thing that was on my mind was Michael. Michael was my best friend, he also happened to be the boy I fell in love with.

I loved him so much that I guess he felt he couldn't return the feelings. It was kind of stupid of me to fall in love with my best friend, but I couldn't help myself.

He was the sweetest, funniest, most caring boy I have ever met. He would make me feel....important and beautiful. I loved the attention. After the school year ended he moved away with his family, and I never told him my feelings.

I was now in my schools parking lot walking toward the school buildings when someone came running to me and hugged me..tight.

"Emily!" I screamed with joy in my voice

"Ky! Its me!"

"Oh my gosh! I thought you weren't gonna come back until 2nd semester?"

"I was, but them I realized that I just miss you so much, and I couldn't wait to see you."

"Oh my gosh! Why didn't you call or something. I would have liked to know that you were coming! I said still hugging her

"I know, but I wanted to surprise you."

" well I am surprised, I didn't expect to see you.
I'm just so happy that your actually here!"

"I'm happy too, I get to see my best friend that I missed so much"

"Oh my gosh! Mallory is going to be overjoyed....come on we need to find her" I said tugging  on her hand so she can follow me to find Mallory

"Hold on, I have not ran since like last school year" she said chuckling a little bit

Emily was my best friend since 6th grade. We are inseparable. But last year for the summer she went to New Mexico, to stay with her dad.

She told me that she wouldn't come back until second semester. It upset me a little but I just said I was happy for her.

The summer wasn't the same without her, but Mallory and me called her everyday. Texted her everyday. And made sure she still remembered us. It sounds silly, but we were scared that she would forget us. She was in another state with her old friends and we would see her for 3 months straight.

It was very scary, but we had managed.

I was cut out of my thoughts when I heard Mallory and Emily screaming.

"Guys! Be a little quieter, people are staring." I said looking around and seeing a few people staring at us.

"Actually, guys I have to go. I need to find my locker' I said

"Okay" the both said in union.

"But, we are hanging out after school. My place, okay?"I said asking them

"Yeah that's okay" Emily said

"I'm cool with it" Mallory said

"Okay, see y'all at lunch"
I said waving my hand

I started walking around the school. I was quite the loner (yes I have Mallory and Emily, but they are my only friends) so I just kept my head down, while I was walking.

I was about to turn the corner when my body hit a
wall. Only it wasn't a wall. It was a person. A guy to be more specific

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention where I was going" I said panicking trying to pick up the books I had dropped.

"Whatever,just make sure you don't do that again dork." A deep unfamiliar voice said

I was offended about what he said, so I quickly looked up and came face to face with Steven. Yes Steven Green, the bad boy that I wasn't hoping to see until like 3 weeks from now.He had blue eyes that were the same color as the ocean. I also noticed he had a lip ring, that was cute.
'Stop! Kyla, what are you thinking?!' I had to tell myself.

"Look I got somewhere I got to be,so if you could move. That would be great." He said  annoyed.

"You do know that we are standing in a hall way, that isn't even full. So you can easily walk around me" I told him trying to stand up for myself.

"Oh look the geek, actually talks. Its a miracle" he said with a smirk

"Oh my gosh, guys look the bad boy is a dip shit" I said looking around for people to hear me.

"Touché....but I'm already late from chit chatting with you so goodbye geek. I'll see you around"he said patting my shoulder and walking past me.

I was shocked at myself that I actually had the courage to say what I said.

I was never the one to speak my mind. I mean with complete strangers at least.

I kept walking around until I found my locker. I put in the code, and I opened my locker.

I started grabbing books from my bag and put them in my locker.

I stopped when I heard the bell, signaling that we had our first period.

I looked at my schedule and first period was Math, something I was good at.

I walked toward math and entered the class.
I sat in the very back so I wouldn't get noticed by other's.

Everyone started walking in the door and sitting around me in the empty desk's.

I pulled out a pencil and a notebook,as I did,I looked up and saw the same familiar blue eyes.

He smirked at me and I just rolled my eyes. He started walking toward the desk next to me.

'oh damit, why does this always happen to me' I thought

He sat down and looked at me.

"May I Help you" I asked with sarcasm

"Nope, just staring my  geek"

What he said made me roll my eyes

'It is going to be a very long year'
