I wake up late the next morning. Serena already left my room. I yawn and walk over to my vanity, rubbing my eyes as I do so. I grab the water bottle that I always keep on my vanity and sip a couple sips.
My maids, somehow sensing that I was awake, come in, eager to help me get dressed. As usual, I turn them down. They do, however, give me a dress to change into. I strip down to my undergarments and start to slip into the dress when I hear the door creak.
"What the hell?" I shout, using the pajamas I had worn to cover myself. I look at the door to find Kade... "Get out of my room, Kade!"
His eyes widen right before he covers them. "Oh gosh, sorry Sierra," he says. He turns around to walk out but keeps running in the walls. Finally, he finds his way through the door. I can feel his presence on the other side of the door, waiting for me to dress myself.
I quickly get dressed and go outside to fetch Kade. "Okay, you can come in now," I say, leading the way as he follows me and shuts the door behind me. "What do you want Kade?" I try to treat him as I normally do and not acknowledge last night's kiss.
"I think we should talk about last night," he answers, sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Theres nothing to talk about. I was flustered and it was a spur of them moment decision. I am not attracted to you and I never will be," I reply, shooing him off my bed.
He smirks and crosses his arms.. "Oh really, then why did you kiss me last night when you only kiss boys you like?"
"Honestly, Ari probably put some alcohol in my punch," I answer, knowing it was most likely true. "Look, what happened last night was a fluke and I do not like you. Even if I did, I have suitors and you're not one of them."
"Honestly, I'm proud of myself for stealing a kiss from Princess Sierra Addilyn Grace Kaia of Indur."
I walk up to him and smack him across the face. I don't care if it's rude, unladylike, not what a princess should do, I just hate him more in that moment than I ever have in my entire life, which is saying a lot.
He rubs the red spot on his cheek that I caused, staring at me with his brown eyes. "What was the for?"
"Get out of my castle right now, you and Ariana," I spit out, the hatred I feel making my cheeks burn and my nose twitch. "And never come back."
My guards rush in because of the loud noise and I order them to make Kade and Ariana leave. I'm so pissed off at them. The guards grab Kade and pull him out. I see Ariana dragged through the hallway. She looks at me with her pleading blue eyes. I shake my head, my face lighting with anger.
I slam my door shut and jump on my bed. I think I must've had too much to drink that night because there is no way in hell I would ever kiss Kade in my right mind.
"My lady," I hear one of the guards say as he lightly knocks on the door. "Your mother wished me to inform you that the suitors will be arriving tomorrow."
"Thank you," I reply, trying to keep my voice level and full of confidence. I comb through my brown ringlets, breathing in an effort to calm myself down.
I forgot that the suitors would be moving in. They would be living with us until the day I pick a Prince Consort.
I fall onto my bed as I think about all the things I need to worry about.
