"Sierra..." Savannah squeaks back. "You're so grown up..."
I wake up in my bed, Serena right next to me, sleeping soundly.
Was that a dream?
How was that dream so vivid?
Serena stirs next to me and I stroke her head, trying to lure her back to sleep.
The door of my room opens and a certain tall, blonde, green-eyed girl pops in, followed by a tall boy with brown hair and blue eyes.
"Parents are gone, we have to stay somewhere," Ariana says, her long blonde hair bouncing behind her as she walks over to me. Her older brother Kade walks out, clearly searching for Timmy.
"Where did they go?" I ask my long time best friend.
"You know, king and queen stuff," Ariana says. Her parents are the king and queen of Hinter, a nearby country, and she's a princess like me so we relate to each other well.
"Of course," I say, laughing silently.
Serena opens an eye and yawns. "Why is Ari here?"
"Her mom and dad are away right now," I tell her, stroking her hair away from her face.
"Oh, well-" She says but is rudely interrupted by Timmy and Kade who come in walking each other with fake swords.
"No swordfighting in my room," I announce, placing my hands on my hips so I look official.
"Oh come on, Sierra," Kade says, jabbing Timmy in the side. "We won't break anything."
"Thats what's you guys said last time when you broke my maids' mannequin," I tell them as I rush them and Serena out of the room so I can talk to Ariana.
"Anyway..." Ariana says, obviously wanting something. "How do you feel about throwing a party on Saturday since your parents are going to be gone for the weekend?"
I sigh. Ariana isn't like any normal princess. While normal princess are curling their hair, she's dyeing hers. "Why not?" I say as I sigh. "Maybe then you could get a chance to talk to Jacob."
Her face pales. "Who's Jacob?" She asks, trying to fake the fact that her face is beet red.
"Oh, you know," I say. "Only the guard that you've had a crush on since we were eight when he would come with his father."
"I don't like anyone," she says, sweating severely.
"Okay," I say sarcastically. "Whatever you say..."
"Anyway," she says, changing the subject. "Invite all of the other teenage princesses and princes you know."
"Fine," I say, picking up a piece of paper to plan out a list.
--Two days later on Saturday--
"Mom," I say. "We'll be fine. The advisors will keep everything under control."
"Okay," my mother says as she and my father exit the castle through the wide doors.
Right as Mother's heel click fades, Ariana takes out a piece of paper.
"Guards?" She mumbles to herself. "Eh, they don't need to know."
"Um, Ariana," Kade says. "That's not the best idea."
"But it's my idea," she says as she smirks and walks away.
--A few hours later when the party is starting (I keep skipping time XD)-
"Okay," I say, trying to keep up with Ariana. "Timmy and Serena are in bed and Jacob has no idea what's going on." As I say his name, Ariana's cheeks redden.
"Good," she says as we stop at the front doors. "The first guest should be arriving right about...... now."
Indeed, right as she finishes talking, we hear a knock on the door. I open it and it turns out its Princess Andrea and her brother Prince Nicholas. We show them to the ballroom where the party is taking place. We made sure to tell everyone it's a teenage party so nobody shows up in the long gowns or tuxedos we are usually forced to wear.
The party goes by in a blur until the end where Princess Hannah of Jein accidentally ran into Prince Willis of Kaole which caused him to run into me and me to get pushed into a supply closet. The door slams shut on me and I instantly freak out because I can't see a thing.
I bang on the door. The music is so loud that nobody can hear me.
A few minutes later, I see the doorknob turn.
I'm saved!!!!
The door opens and Kade comes in, shutting the door behind him.
"Why did you close the door?!" I exclaim.
"Sierra?" He asks as if he had no idea I was in here. "You're in here? I just came in to get away from the party. If we need to leave we can just open the door."
"It won't work," I tell him. "We're locked in thanks to your brilliance."
We both sat down in opposite corners of the dark closet, glaring at each other.
"We can at least turn on the light," Kade says, pulling a string that comes from the ceiling which turns on the light.
In the light, I can see Kade's face better.
Has he always been this attractive?
Ew, why am I thinking that? He's like an older brother to me.
An attractive older brother...
Shut up Sierra! Snap out of it!!
Before I know it, my lips are gliding closer to his and his to mine.
Right as they touch, the door opens and the shadow of a tall girl shines in.
"Gross," Ariana says as Kade and I jump away from each other. "I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit."
I leave the closet, blushing fiercely.
I race up into my room, closing the door. I find Serena in my bed.
Of course.
I climb in next to her after changing clothes and drift off to sleep.
