Chapter 19: Hypothermia, Birthday Suits, Little Talks
"Oh my god, Connor stop being so childish and picking dumb ass dares!" Jake's sister Tayla had joined us a little while ago and slapped Connor on the back of the head for daring Tyler to hump a tree.
Tayla was a feisty blonde, gorgeous too. She was a year lower than all of us in school but a couple months younger than Belle and I. Jake's brother also joined us; Josh is his name and lemme say he a cutie.
Like these guys got some good genes going on and I just want to embrace them all in a group hug and make them rub their gorgeousness upon myself.
My thoughts we pulled from me when my lucky strike of not being landed on broke as the bottle slowed to a pace in front of me and well Belle had the evilest of evil smirks on her face.
Damn! And I took off my Hamsa Hand bracelet! Bummer. I could have been protected from her evil eye..
I apologize in advance for my hippie beliefs. "Truth or Dare, my young one." Rolling my eyes I picked dare with a raised eyebrow. "Okay." She nodded with my answer and the smirk just grew. "Ace, I dare you to throw our lovely Lay here into the pool with just your undergarments on."
Wait a minute.. Ace smirked and stood up advancing to me.
"Wait." I tried to stop him but he kept approaching causing me to squeal and jump up and away from Ace. "Now just WAIT A MINUTE!" I called and he cackled as everyone watching with amusement.
I ran around the island in the kitchen as Ace approached. "Do you not know how freezing the water will be?" I said slightly huffing. Hey, don't judge. We're not all cut out to be athletes here.
"I'm serious, Ace! This is not the safest practice. I could contract hypothermia where my body is exposed to cold temperatures meaning that my body has to work hard in maintaining the little body heat I have left. As the temperature falls lower, throughout the night, the body shunts blood away from the skin and exposure to elements. Blood flow is increased to the vital organs of the body including the heart, kidney, lungs and of course brain. The heart and brain are most sensitive to cold-"
I squealed as Ace caught up to me and threw me over his shoulder which jammed into my belly button and I had to readjust myself as my belly ring was still sensitive to touch.
"Thank you, Lay for the intriguing science lecture." I huffed and he laughed as he slapped behind my thighs and asked Belle to open the sliding glass door, which she did- trader.
As we walked through I grabbed the side of the door and held on and Ace pulled my legs and tried to pry me off.
"I could die!" I yelled as he still fought and my fingers started to slip. "Then what will you do without me? All the guilt will be on you TRADERS and I hope you can't sleep at night!" I screamed out my battle cry causing my friends to double over and laugh at me. "I will haunt all of you and steal your toilet paper! And towels! And your blankets! And-" My rant was cut off when I slipped and I screamed one last time as he yanked me and started to near the pool.
"HYPOTHERMIA!" I cried extremely dramatically and in slow motion. It was a kick for everyone and with a grunt Ace planted me firmly on the ground in front of the pool and I crossed my arms.
"I'm not going in." I shook my head and turned my nose up.
"Take your clothes off, or you're going in with them. You're not getting out of this. Unless you wanna eat hot sauce and tacos as your punishment." Belle knew me too damn well. "Please, no spicy foods!" I could have cried then and there dropping to my hands and knees begging.
