"Okay ka lang?" Marky asked Warren. Marky was the only close friend Warren has. They're the best buds.
"Hindi. Shit! Nabigla ko ata." Warren answered. He messed his hair. Frustrated, he looked outside the window of his condo. "I thought she's gonna say yes. I saw it in her eyes. Mahal niya pa rin ako."
"Then why did she ran away from you?" Marky asked. He took a bottle of beer and drink it. Bottoms up. Nainggit naman si Warren. Bawal kasi siyang uminom.
"Fear? I don't know." Warren let out a breath. "Was it too much?"
"Yeah." Marky said and looked at Warren. Naawa siya sa kaibigan. After the concert, tinawagan siya nito at pinapunta sa condo nito. He bought six bottles of beers, al for himself. He's broken. And if he wants to sulk, better be with a broken man too.
"It was too much since she doesn't know what happened to you. Kung sinabi mo sa kanya agad yung totoo nung nagkita kayo, edi sana kasal na kayo ngayon and I'll see little Warren and little Vielle running around the house." Marky said referring to the house Warren bought a year and a half ago. Pinag-ipunan ito ni Warren para kay Vielle. Para sa magiging pamilya nila. It was his sixth anniversary gift to Vielle. He wanted to give everything to his love. But he thinks it might be too late.
"Ayokong masaktan siya dahil sa nangyari sa akin." Warren said and ate the barbeque. He took out his phone and tried to call Vielle but she wasn't answering.
"Nasaktan mo na siya. Now, she thinks you're an ass."
"I know. I know. That's why I'm doing everything to get her back."
"Then do it slowly. Hindi yung binibigla mo. Baka mamaya, siya naman 'tong atakihin sa puso." Marky joked but Warren glared at him.
"Gago." Warren answered and throw an empty water bottle at his friend who was laughing at him.
-
"Elise. Nagluto ka na?" Vielle asked her friend after she showered. She feels so groggy. Gusto niya na lang matulog maghapon. But she can't do that. She has some paper work to finish.
"Not yet. Hinihintay kita. Anong gusto mo?" Elise answered while still playing CoC on her phone. "Na-raid na naman! Asar!"
Vielle sat beside her friend and looked at her phone. Hindi siya makarelate sa ginagawa nito. She's not a fan of mobile games.
"Pizza?" Vielle asked. She wanted pizza now. Kagabi pa siya gutom.
"Ayaw mo lang magluto ako eh." Elise pouted. "Fine. Mag-oorder ako sa labas. Wanna come?"
"Ayaw mong magpadeliver?" Vielle asked with knotted eyebrow.
"Nope. May kailangan akong bilhin sa drugstore." Elise answered as she stood up and picked her purse. She put her phone on it.
"What?"
"A drug for your broken heart." Elise joked and winked at her friend.
"Sira." Vielle answered with a smile and throw a pillow at Elise. Nagmamadaling umalis naman si Elise.
If only there's a drug for a broken heart, I'm gonna buy tons of it. Vielle thought.
-
"You know, you two should talk. Alam mo na. Para bigyan ng linaw ang lahat." Elise said as she started to get another slice of pizza. Good thinh both of them doesn't get fat.
"I'm scared." Vielle confessed. "I'm scared he'll hurt me again and leave without any explanations. Ayokong maulit yung ginawa niya noon."
"Vielle. Lahat ng tao nasasaktan. We have to feel pain in order for us to get stronger. Pain makes us or destroys us. Nasa sa atin yung desisyon kung alin sa dalawang yun ang pipiliin natin." Elise said and drank a bottle of light beer.
Vielle was still quite. Iniisip niya ang sinabi ni Elise. Pain didn't made her stronger. It destroyed her. Now, she thinks she's incapable of loving another man again.
"Listen, Vielle. If you wanted to move on, you have to close whatever shit you two had. Clear things out. Hindi yung para kayong mga shunga na nagpapanggap na hindi kayo lubusang nagmahalan sa loob ng limang taon."
"Elise. Hindi naman ganun kadali yun."
"Wala naman kasing madali sa love. You must take everything slowly if you want it to last longer. The faster you get it, the faster it will go away. Just asked him what happened a year ago. What's his reason. Tapos timbangin mo kung worth it ba ito para bigyan siya ng second chance. Lot's of people doesn't deserve a second chance. But I think Warren deserve one."
Nag-isip ulit si Vielle. Maybe she really need some explanation.
Moments later, she took out her phone and typed a message. She let out an air and looked at her friend who is now sleeping beside her.
"I hope you're right, Elise." She said as she started to clear their mess. She wished she could clear the mess in her life too just as what she was doing now. Sana ganito kadali lang. But it's not.
She remembered Elise's phrase. "Walang madali sa love."

Warren looked at his phone and saw a message from someone whom he kept on waiting for hours.
From: Vielle, my love
Magkita tayo bukas. 9AM. Memory lane.
He smiled and replied.
To: Vielle, my love
Okay. I'll wait for you. Even if it takes forever.
As he started to take his medicine, he also prayed that she'll say yes.
God. Let me be happy again.
