Daniel was asleep on the couch. He looked so...what's the word? Beautiful. His chest rose up and fell. He smiled in his sleep then rolled off the couch. But, he never got up. I walked over and he wasn't breathing. His hair was soaked in a pool of blood. I rolled him over to see the colour fading in his face. I let a tear fall down my cheek. He was the only one I had. I felt like i was burning alive. He coughed and opened his eyes. He said a few words then closed his eyes, never to open them again. "Death is freedom." I looked at him and froze as he melted into my arms, his lifeless hand falling to the ground. I laid my head on his chest and screamed. I couldn't believe that he was gone. He was all I had. I said a few words through my sobbing; "Please, don't let him be gone. Please I want him back. Or let me go with him. Please!" I started to feel tired. It was like my body was trying to say that I suffered enough and that I needed to rest. I fell asleep on Daniel's lifeless body in a pool of tears.
