CHAPTER TWO

We were getting ready to head out for our run. I always felt uneasy before going out. I sighed and felt someone's hand on my shoulder. Turning around, I came face to face with Harper. "Please don't die." She said.

I chuckled and playfully rolled my eyes, "Jeez, what a great motivation Harp."

"I'm serious! You're my best friend I'd die if you die."

"I won't, I'll be back." I smiled and she smiled back.

"Okay guys, listen up. We will be gone three day tops. We'll try to make it today or tomorrow. We'll be taking two of the cars to fit in as much as we can." Tucker said pulling out a map.

"Where will you guys be going? If you're not back before the three days, can we go look for you?" Ben asked.

"You will go look for us if and only if we are not back before the fifth day. Travel during the day time. We'll be going to the gas station near the bowling alley in town. After that we're probably going to the Walmart nearby. We're going through the main roads because we could probably look around in the cars left behind to see if we find something." Tucker explained.

I grabbed my backpack from the floor and stuffed my ammo and some other tools inside. I squeezed a small hunting knife inside the side of my boot and then started filling my belt with stuff. First putting a knife on one side and my berretta gun on the side with its silencer.

I grabbed my leather jacket from the pile of jackets and shoved it on. We never went on a run without wearing one. It kind of prevented getting bit by an infected. At least on our upper bodies. Kind of like a small shield I guess.

I looked at our friends who were staying and sighed. Harper hugged me and said, "I love you, good luck." I didn't say anything back but hugged her back just as tight.

Turning around I saw Ben stroking Alice's hair and whispering things to her. I looked away quickly. It felt too intimate. Tucker and Ash were going over the plan once again as they were putting on their leather jackets and walking towards the cars.

"You guys should leave now, so you get there earlier." Jesse said and Tucker nodded.

"Jesse open up the gate so we can get the cars out." Ash said.

Jesse and Ben started opening the gate of the bunker storage we made our own. When we first found it we were ecstatic, it was perfect. It was big enough to fit our cars and us. We wanted somewhere where we could hide the cars so we didn't attract other survivors. Thankfully it was kind of empty since it was still for sale.

I gave a quick hug to Dakota, Harper, Ben and Jesse, then ran to the Hyundai Ash was driving and sat on the passenger seat. Alice was going to go with Tucker.

Ash put the car on reverse and got out of the bunker after Tucker did. I sighed, I was extremely nervous.

"Don't worry everything will be okay." Ash said.

"I know it's just everything is so unpredictable these days I can't help but to feel nervous." I told him.

"Yeah I know but relax we'll look out for each other." He said quickly taking a glance at me.

Ash stopped the car besides Tucker's pickup truck. "So where to first man?" Ash asked to make sure.

"Let's see what we can find on the main road and then we'll go to the gas station. We'll go to Walmart last." Tucker said and Ash nodded.
