Okay, so you might be wondering what I did when I saw some giant ass freaking thing climb out of a pit. I screamed. Really loud. I ran up the stairs from the living-room towards my room. I made it up to the top of the stairs and rushed into my room. I threw open my closet door and snagged the closest thing I had to a weapon- a Wilson 5 iron. Right after grabbing the golf club, I heard a crashing noise downstairs, probably the thing breaking through the sliding door window. I figured staying at the top of the stairs would provide me with a tactical advantage. And keep me alive longer.

The large figure stepped through the broken sliding door and out into the living-room. It sniffed at the air with a long snout that I could see poking out from under a large cloak.

"Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant" it hissed. "Come out and I will kill you quickly."

This guy really seemed to have a way with words. I stayed silent at the top of the stairs.

"Grant, know this. I will find you if you don't come out now." it snarled.

Really not that convincing. I decided to take my chances and stayed quiet.

The dark figure began pacing towards the stairs, and I noticed a long pink tail whip out from under the cloak. The tail moved silently through the air and came down quickly on the china cabinet in the corner of the room, filling the air with the sound of shattered glass and porcelain. When my mom got home she was sooooooo going to kill me for the damage done to the house. There would be no way to explain this to her without landing myself a one way all expenses paid trip to a mental hospital.

"My nose isn't what it used to be Grant, so I'll cheat a bit." It hissed as it pulled a scroll from inside its cloak.

Now I can't say the things that now came out of the rat creature's mouth were words, but it could have been possible. These strange blue tendrils coiled off the scroll as he chanted, and the tendrils slid up the stairs and began to wrap around me. I shouted and struggled, but the tendrils held tightly, and they carried me downstairs towards the hooded figure.

"There you areee Grant. Now I can just kill you and get my pay." the creature snarled.

As I floated down the stairs I made sure that my arms were free. One I was within clubbing distance of the hooded beast, I made my move.

"FOREEE!" I shouted, and swung the 5-iron at the creature's head. It connected with a sickening crack, and the beast fell to the floor. The tendrils seeping from the scroll began to fade, and I fell back to the floor.
