Them

Chapter 1

Tori's Pov

Lightning strikes not to far away as we walk through the city, or what is left of the city. Only taking the supplies we need as we travel, in hopes of finding more survivors of this darkness.

"Im tired Tori" whines Missy. We have been walking non stop for a few days now and everyone is starting to whine and grumble. "Alright alright we can stop for a few hours" I huff at them. Stopping at a run down supermarket, I quickly gather some cans and tins of food and bottles of water to restock our supplies. Looking around I can see that people have already raided most of the supplies and that the sun was slowly going down behind the mountains. Everyone is starting to get ready for a few much needed hours of sleep, knowing that I'll make them walk for hour tomorrow.

"Where are we going Tori?" Ryan asks with a yawn. I look down at him and then around at the others, they are all looking at me now, curious and interested. "Evalore" I say quietly. I hear a gasp and a few what's and no ways. "What do you mean we are going to Evalore? It doesn't exist." Says Xavier as something flickers across his eyes.

I can't pick out what it is, but don't worry about to much and try to explain my reason for searching. "The legend states that if we find Evalore we will finally be safe, and it's not like we're going anywhere else important." I state with my head held high. "Unless you guys are have somewhere better to go."

"We could stay here." Whispers Brady. I shake my head at them after hearing sounds of agreement. "Fine, you can all stay, but I'm going to find Evalore and prove it to you."

"Tori don't be like that, we don't know if it's real and can't keep looking for something that might not exist and give us false hope." Exclaims Xavier. I look at them all and then turn around, chewing on a granola bar, and start walking over to where I had set up for the night. "Well whatever I'm going to sleep, goodnight."

Lying down and rolling over, I start to doze off as soon as my head hits the pillow, drifting into a black dreamless sleep.
